Tiny Fey Welcomes New Daughter, Penelope Athena
Tina Fey and her husband, composer Jeffery Richmond, welcomed their second daughter to the family on Wednesday. The new arrival, Penelope Athena, joins five year old big sister Alice.
Knowing how much work goes into running a television show like 30 Rock, the decision to have a new baby at the same time can’t have been a trivial one. Fey has been fairly open about how challenging the decision to have another baby was. After revealing her pregnancy to the world on the Oprah Winfrey Show this past April she talked to the famous talk show host about the decision:
“My husband and I really decided that we felt rather than risk having 30 Rock end in several years and feeling like part of our family is missing that we were going to prioritize our family.”
Later in her pregnancy, on Ellen, Fey joked that she and her husband had decided to not find out the baby’s gender before it was born, or perhaps a bit after. Fey told Ellen, ”I’m just going to see what it chooses to wear to prom.”
Judging from the sweet, and very feminine, name Fey and Richmond chose they’ve figured it out a little earlier than that.
