Mike Sorrentino (a.k.a The Situation) has made millions of dollars promoting products and companies since becoming a sensation on the hit MTV show Jersey Shore.
Over the past few years, Sorrentino has scored deals with high profile labels like Reebok, Devotion Vodka and GNC making him the second highest reality TV earner in 2010 (next to Kim Kardashian, of course).
Despite his partnerships with reputable brands, there is one company who does not want The Situation backing their products. So who is it? That would be Abercrombie and Fitch.
The label, despite making and selling a T-shirt with the caption “The Fitchuation” last year, has just released a statement offering the Jersey Shore star a large sum of money (the specific amount is undisclosed) to NOT – I repeat NOT – wear their clothes. WTF?
Mike was spotted wearing these popular lime green A&F track pants (see photo above) during last week’s episode of Jersey Shore and execs at Abercrombie were not impressed.
“We believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” the company said in a press release yesterday. They continued by saying that they are “deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image.”
Additional offers have also been sent out to other cast members.
Abercrombie is referring to the deal as a “Win-Win Situation.” Clever.
So we gotta ask: Would you take the offer?
