The Situation Paid NOT Wear Abercrombie, Paid TO Wear Hustler!

This is a new one.  Clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch have put out a fairly serious offer to Jersey Shore reality star, The Situation, to stop wearing clothes from their stores.  Usually, celebrity endorsement deals are signed to make sure a well known face is often seen in a particular brand.  But it seems that being associated with The Situation isn’t what Abercrombie & Fitch wants for it’s image.

The brand is already well known for it’s salacious, and often near nude, catalog shoots, as well as the shirtless male models it pays to hang out in front of its stores, attracting customers.  The fact that even THEY are embarrassed to be seen with The Situation might be a sign that the reality star needs to rethink his image.

Tuesday night, the retailer posted a statement to its site offering Mike “The Situations” Sorrentino cash to stop wearing their clothes:

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” a representative from A&F’s brand senses department commented. “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

Yesterday, however, Larry Flynt went on the record to say that his company, Hustler, is willing to pay The Sitch an equally large sum of money “so he can stay well-dressed.”

“The Sitch may not be good enough for Abercrombie & Fitch,” he says, ”but he’s good enough for us.”

If Mike takes both deals, he could be raking in quite an impressive paycheck!
