Kenny Chesney Concert Rescheduled Due to Hurricane: Fans Furious!

Kenny Chesney was all set to perform at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass on Sunday evening but a warning from Mother Nature that a hurricane might be in the forecast has forced the country superstar to move the concert up to Friday night – a move that is sparking anger in a lot of fans.

He left this message on his website, explaining the reason for re-scheduling:

“I want the last weekend of the ‘Goin’ Coastal’ Tour to be a great experience for everybody. But I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone.”

While most fans can respect Kenny’s decision to change the date on account of the weather, ticket holders raise a good point when they say that the concert should have been rescheduled to a later date instead of up by 2 days.

“I am so devastated,” one person wrote on his website. “Had tickets for Sunday and a babysitter. Now that it got moved to Friday we can’t go!”

Another fan said “Some people are not able at the last minute to rearrange work/child care. This should have been changed to a date further out NOT closer up.”

Good points made by both fans, not to mention that the concert start time will remain the same on Friday as it was scheduled for on Sunday – 5pm – which will force countless fans to either take the day off or leave early.

Since it’s the last weekend of the tour, postponing the event until next weekend wouldn’t conflict with any other scheduled shows.

Come on, Kenny – what’s the problem?

For fans who are not able to make Friday’s show, refunds will be offered at point of purchase.

Do you think he should reschedule to a later date? If so, leave your comments below!
