After Lawsuit, Pitbull Invites Lindsay Lohan to Be His Date to VMAs
Want someone to be your date? Sue them first.
That seems to be the lesson we can learn from the latest in the Lindsay Lohan vs. Pitbull debacle. Let me catch you up to speed: In the rapper’s song Give Me Everything, Pitbull says, “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” – and Lindsay sued him, claiming she suffered from pain and mental anguish as a result of being mentioned. It’s reminiscent of her lawsuit against E-Trade, which used the name Lindsay in its strange milkaholic baby ad. At least there’s no question that Pitbull’s song is actually referencing LiLo.
According to E! News, Pitbull claims the lyric was meant to be “positive,” not an insult. “When I mentioned Lindsay Lohan in the record, it was a really positive message,” he said. “When I say ‘I got it locked up’…that means you run that neighborhood. When I say ‘I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan,’ I say she runs her world, I’m trying to run mine.” He added that he never meant to “defame, degrade or hurt anyone’s career. We mention people’s names all the time. Rapping is always about double meanings and metaphors.”
He also extended an invite to Lindsay to join him at the VMAs as his date. “I will be performing this at the VMAs, and as a matter of fact, I’d like to send out an invitation to Lindsay Lohan, hopefully she can come with me to the VMAs and maybe we can figure this out,” he said. She hasn’t responded. Come on, LiLo! Hanging out with Pitbull will be better for your career than some lawsuit!
