Holly and Blake may have just publicly announced their engagement on the Bachelor Pad 2 finale but the sincerity of the proposal is being questioned by many after it was revealed that the whole thing was faked for publicity.
There’s no denying that Holly and Blake had a great connection on the show. They appeared to have a good time but Holly still seemed torn over her relationship with Michael. So how is that she agreed to marry Blake when they’ve only known each other for a few months and live in two separate cities?
That’s an easy question to answer.
Holly agreed because she received a dazzling Neil Lane engagement ring (that Blake didn’t shell out one cent for), an exclusive magazine deal to tell the story of their relationship (huge cash for both of them) and – most likely – a television, elaborate and lavish wedding with hundreds of their closest friends and family members.
Reason enough? Thought so.
Of course, they have to make it down the aisle for that to happen.
I’m still not convinced that Blake and Holly have what it takes to make it last. It’s obvious that these two were presented with quite a package in order to announce their engagement (which most likely would have never happened if the appealing offer hadn’t been thrown in front of them) but what kind of girl wants a forced proposal? Seriously.
Now that you know the real story behind Holly and Blake’s engagement, I have to ask:
Holly and Blake’s engagement: Completely sincere or faked for publicity?
Two of the most selfish horrible people that ever existed, how can she live with herself and he is even worse. I cannot beleive what a person is willing to show how cold, evil hearted, selfish they can be, they deserve each other and all the misery they gave, they will get back, Holly and Blake you are horrible beings, how can you have watched all that and feel decent about who you both are!!!!!
Love knows no bounds. They love each other and so be it. Micheal had his chance and blew it. He only appeared on bachelor pad to play this pitiful game when the cameras were rolling when he could have done that 3 months ago before the show. Most men are like Mike. They “Break Up” with you in private and when they see another man expressing interest in you then they start to act like they are Mr Perfect willing to do everything for you. Opportunity they say comes but once. Mike had his chance with Holly and blew it. I think Blake deserves Holly’s heart.
Nana, don’t forget–HOLLY broke up with Michael first! He proposed, she said yes, then she dumped him! Finally, she wanted him back, but Michael was guarding his heart and he then dumped her. Love isn’t so black and white. But Holly broke his heart first, which set everything else in motion. Holly is a confused mess.
Michael is a class act. Blake is a scoundrel. Holly, you can do better than Blake.
Anyone else notice Blake’s smug grin as Michael was finding out about the engagement?

I agree with SpecialK. Holly wasn’t telling the whole truth when she went on and on about how heartbroken she was when Mike dumped her. She broke up an ENGAGEMENT. For him to go straight back into a relationship with her after that heartbreak..I don’t blame Mike for freaking out a bit. I think Holly was very selfish. Mike never complained about Holly breaking his heart when she dumped him but Holly just can’t stop whining. I was not a huge fan of Holly on the show. Mike deserves better.

And blake, is a fuckin player i dont see how she can not see that. they didnt even dated, they were only seeing eachother and then boom they’re engage. it stupid and i know danm well that the stupid engagement wont last.
Totally agree! I am totally upset with the decision tonight. Do not like Blake or Holley! I feel so sorry for Michael. He is too nice of a person. Holley just walked all over him to get what she wants. I think Michael is a way better person than Blake. Holley barely knows this guy, and when he proposes she says yes! Of course, he is a dentist though! Isn’t that a good enough reason??!
Listen, falling in love does not make them evil. I think it was sincere. Obviously the media will put their own spin on things and create scenarios for outsiders to think about and help create rumours etc. But you can’t help who you love and sometimes in order to get to the one you love others might get hurt. Michael will get over it and I am sure Holly and Blake will be fine whether it works or not. All relationships have a beginning, a middle and a end…There are no gurantees in relationships married or not….it’s all a risk that we choose to take. Maybe they will get married, maybe they won’t. If they even enjoy each other for a moment in time and it felt good for both of them…who are we to judge! I say…leave them alone!!!

While I agree that Holly shouldn’t have led Mike on like she did, I am genuinely happy for Holly and Blake. The looks on their faces and the way they acted seemed legitimate to me and I don’t think it was faked. All the best to them. I’m just glad she isn’t leading Michael on anymore.
Lynn, I do agree that it was really cruel of them to wait until the show to tell Michael but there was probably some sort of rule against telling him because they wanted (TV network) the drama for the show. As crappy as that is, I’m sure that’s why it happened the way it did.
As a side note, Michael and Holly weren’t together on BP as a couple, so as much as you want to call Blake selfish and cruel for going after Holly, he was fighting for a girl he really cared about and she wasn’t officially attached so I think that he was just going for what he wanted and why shouldn’t he?
Once again, Holley has bashed Michael. Every week, she does something meaner and meaner! I really dont want to hear how Holley and Michael werent together when the show aired..blah..blah..blah. She constantly throws this guy under the bus…so crappy!
Michael is the biggest sweetheart and a genuine guy, but he had his chance. If him and Holly were meant to be together with both feelings 110% there for each other, they would still be together right now. As for Holly, she is made out to be the “bad guy” but her feelings for Blake were reciprocated, and I do believe they truly do care for each other. So best of luck with them and their happiness. Michael will find someone perfect for him and when he has her, he’ll know and never let that go the way he did with Holly.
Also, anyone on these shows are obviously very passionate and are strong believers of love. Any kind of love, that is. Love comes so easily to them so believing that this marriage is real comes easily to me because any individual that has participated on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette will go for the first person they find 1. physically attractive and 2. find themselves being liked back. Simple as that.
Here is the thing. You all want to hate blake but honesty he fell for a girl that was single why is that a bad thing? ? Mike and holly where no longer together! !! Blake is not a bad guy he fell for her loves her and I see nothing in him that’s cold he is a laid back guy and his only mistake was kissing a crazy person ( Melissa she was a basket case) its like blake is torn to peices becausse he had a kiss with the wrong girl! So how many of us girls have had boyfriends that break up with us, then want us back as soon as we show interest in someone else? Well this is exactly what happened to Michael. So I say too bad so sad, should have kept her while he had her…lesson learned. I don’t agree that they waited until the finale to tell him, even an email would’ve been better. I do think he is a nice guy and genuinely loves Holly, and I do feel bad that he found out on tv. However, like I said…lesson learned.

its because they dont hear whats said when there backstage. if you were watching correctly then you would of noticed. What happened was that Michael was hurt by Holly dumping *him*. She broke off the engagement, remember. He still loved her but couldn’t trust her wishy-washy emotions. Obviously with good reason, because even if they had been together, she probably would have fallen for Blake. I think Blake is a bit of a snake for how he behaved, but I can ssee that he does genuinely care for Holly, which is good. I think the engagement is too soon, however! This could be a recipe for disaster for Holly and Blake.

I would also like to add that Erica being 32 years old having made it thus far in her life, could say on national TV that her heart was breaking because of Blake told her on 1 DATE.. really???? How can you fall in LOVE with someone so hard after one date? Be serious its 2011.
She deserves to be happy and CLEARLY they have something special/connection and have had since they first met. Blake owes Mike nothing, they were TOTAL stangers and met like 2 months ago..

The engagement video was UBER FAKE. I’m sorry… but it was so obviously rehearsed and staged. Blake had a stupid look on his face the whole time, if he was sincere, he wouldn’t have had the smerk that he did… this was an obvious cash grab… no doubt in my mind.

I don’t think Blake was a bad guy at all. He went after a single lady and went after what he wanted. Holly was single and didn’t lead Michael on either. She told Michael that he had 3 months to tell her that he still had feelings for her and he waited until another guy showed an interest in her. too little too late. I don’t get why the whole house acted like Blake was this bad guy taking another man’s girl. he wasn’t.

What you seem to forget is that the reason Holly and Michael broke up in the first place is because right after they got engaged, Holly had cold feet and called it off. Then she went back to him about how she was sorry and they were back on again. Problem is that Michael didn’t trust her anymore and that’s when he ended it. Here’s the real issue – the whole time Holly and Blake were getting together she kept saying how torn she was. Well, if she cared about him at all, she wouldn’t be hooking up with Blake right in front of him. And she wouldn’t get engaged after only 2 months of knowing him, and she wouldn’t drop it on him on live tv. Let’s face it….she’s a selfish little princess who cares only about herself.
I agree that Blake has nothing to apologize for – he didn’t know Michael and doesn’t owe him anything, but Holly is a different story. It wil never last – look at her track record, before Michael she was hooked up for a while with Jesse – Deanna’s former ex, who by the way was/is? engaged to Michael’s twin brother.
I belive nothing this fake and tacky show produces. Human emotions , rights , basic dignity ( exp: famous competition game in bachelor pad- when asked they must choose who is the most unattractive person there and that young lady cried at the end cause she got hit the most? disgusting !!!! I would sue that show long ago if I was her , and she is a lawyer !!! ) are exploited . Like in the Roman times when they threw people to Lions for the “fun and games” to pass stresss and boredom. How low and sad . We are trying to teach others of Democracy yet we violate basic human rights at home . No wonder no one likes us as a Nation , we are a laughting stock !

K so let’s remember that the entire Bachelor franchise has a lot of ‘fake’ in it – I mean there was Jake the Fake, Vienna the fake, Ashley seemed fake alot of the time this season, Brad the fake….and on and on it goes. Of course the engagement was partly staged by the producers, complete with gorgeous diamond ring – hello…that’s what the Bachelor show and this spin off are all about. When any of these couples get engaged, they have only known each other for a few months, yet they get engaged – and then go try the relationship out in the real world. Blake and Holly are no more fake than Ashley and JP, Ali and Roberto – only time will tell if it works. Give them a break. I never saw Michael before on any other seasons, but to me he came off as a whiney baby. I felt bad he was blindsided by the producers for ratings, but then again he and Holly were not a couple, so so what? All the best to the hopefully happy new couple.
Nothing is real on these shows. The people in them make money doing it, they’re drama & money lovers and they will do/say anything to start the drama/controversy that makes them money/t.v. stars. For all we know, Michael and Holly were in on the whole thing the whole time to secure money for their wedding and Blake also gets to make out with a hot chick and get a nice chunk of cash from the tabloid stories as well. Probably the next headlines from the Bachelor Pad 2 will be: “Holly Gets Cold Feet Yet Again; Goes Running Back To Michael!!!!” real shocker right? thus the show and cast members stay entertaining/interesting…..and keep making money…..
