Miss Universe 2011 Winner is Miss Angola Leila Lopes (PHOTOS)!

It’s the moment pageant fans have been waiting on for months. Your Miss Universe 2011 has just been announced and there will undoubtedly be mixed opinions as to whether the right person won.

Who Won Miss Universe 2011?

Your Miss Universe 2011 is Miss Angola Leila Lopes!

Joining her in the Final 5 were Miss Angola, Miss Brazil, Miss China, Miss Philippines and Miss Ukraine.

The first runner up is Miss Ukraine.

Miss Philippines has always had a huge fan base and they were undoubtedly happy that their representative made it to the final 5 (as with all of the other countries, obviously). Miss Philippines, however, led all of the online polls and those rooting for Shamcey Supsup will likely be upset that she didn’t win tonight.

There were several gorgeous women competing for this prestigious title but, as we all know, there is only one woman who can come out on top.

Now that you know who won Miss Universe 2011, do you think that the right woman took home the crown?

Take a look at these photos and let us know what you think of tonight’s results!

  1. So Beautiful! Congrats!!

    • Are u serious ape ur just a sad lil stupid ass person am so sorry for ya well look da black ape won

      • as if your good looking…everybody deserves to win…and besides, an ape cannot join Miss Universe in the first place

      • what is your beef with The Black Girl winning? I know YOU ARE A RACIST

      • Tell me, did you feel good about saying that? Do believe in a higher power?. Thank God that i have never had to live around people like. Racism is evil, and so are you.

      • kkdkfk, you make me sick. You are a complete racist jerk. You should be ashamed of yourself. You’re the ape!

Leila is absolutely gorgeous and she has a great figure.

    • Even though Miss Philippines had the best answer, Miss Angola won. No matter what Oprah says, or anybody else, it’s done. Us Filipinos should be thankful that she was a runner up. That’s good enough. Filipinos are able to speak proper English, which is why Miss Philippines answered without a translator. No race is better than the other. We all have skeletons. We are all the same. No one is better than the other.

      • i definitely agree:)

      • So beautiful Ms. Angola! congratulations to all participants! :D

      • Benedick L. Fernandez says:

        i agree..!

      • marianne amifae says:

i agree much with Ali.. though Shamcey did not make it as the 2011 miss universe, being the 3rd runner up is a big achievement.. all of the 89 candidates were lovely and they all deserve to win the crown.. joining a pageant is not about how -fluent- u are in using english language and how good you are in answering the question.. MISS UNIVERSE IS A BATTLE OF PHYSICAL BEAUTY,TALENT and of course INTELLIGENCE… and yes.! miss philippines answered the question straight to the point compared to miss angola.. but miss angola is more -sexy- than sHAmcey… she’s more taller than her.. and it counts !!! let us be happy that another filipina beauty made it to the top 5.. miss angola deserves the crown… peace y’all!!!

      • W pełni się z Tobą zgadzam. Pozdrawiam
        http://punkt30.blogspot.com/

    • Kamoteng Kahoy ^___________^ says:

      Nice one Kirara! Nice one!

    • beauty and brain…all candidates of miss universe should know how to speak English
its a MUST…..for me shamcey is the real winner…

      • Why do all the contestants HAVE to know how to speak English. Don’t just think that because English is a dominant language in many countries, EVERYONE has to speak it. It’s a shame that know a days in this world there is a lot of people like you! And speaking English is not a “MUST”. Yes, i agree it’s helpful. But being Miss Universe stands for being beautiful, charasmatic, UNIQUE, smart, and humble! Why doesn’t everyone just speak Spanish, or Chinese. Is it a “MUST”! I mean most things are made in china ? Right?

    • Hi all, I’ve read a lot of the comments posted here and I think it’s pretty sad that people are calling each other names or trying to belittle one’s race and country… Why can’t it just be accepted that she won, regardless of who you thought was prettier, or who answered better because they spoke English and didn’t use an interpreter…it’s MISS UNIVERSE. English is not the only language in the world. So what if she paused, she wanted to answer well. What makes this Universe is the different languages, beautiful people of All races, one type not better than the other no matter what anyone says, and the fact that we are all human beings, born the same way, and dying the same way, its life… no one makes it out alive.

      • Oh and one more thing, she’s not going to be Miss Universe forever, just like Miss Universe before her was from a different country so will the next one, so for all those upset that Miss Ukraine or Miss Philippines did not win, fret not, there is always next time
So let’s all show some respect, tolerance and good sportsmanship
to people of all races and countries because no one likes to be discriminated against and it’s up to YOU to stop it.

  2. It’s frustrating to see some of them crowned higher than Ms.Philippines who answered better.

    • I am a Filipino but I should say that Q&A is not only the criteria. Let’s just be thankful Shamcey’s in the Top 5. Oh not only that, 3rd runner up

      • 3rd place? are you insane? it would be a lot better if she probably won 1st place
or much better the crown… miss angola did not finish her answer if you had notice
        it on the pageant.

    • Thats your opinion and you are not a judge.

    • No Miss Philippines had the worst answer, of all five women. She should have been disqualified from in the five finalist. The answer she give shows that she was willing to spread prejudice around the world, and certainly did not share the Miss Universe creed of inclusion of all. If her religious belief is so specific then she should have been disqualified and not allow to participate in the contest, I for one is going to petition that people like her are not allowed in contest like that. I am happy that the right person won.It ok to believe in your religious , but you don’t have to right to demand it from everyone. There are many religious around the world, and they believe in God. I don’t who her God is. Maybe he is the maker of the mountain of maker up she uses.

  3. Christinie Jie Sam Foek says:

According to my opinion she deserved the title without any doubt. Congratulations to miss Angola

    • CHRISTOPHER ALLAN CRISOSTOMO says:

To Quote OPRAH WINFREY: “I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer… as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”

      • The filipina was average looking. Your people cry more than any ethnicity.

        • Idiot! What the hell does crying have to do with people thinking that Shamcey should’ve won?!

          • cam: no your mom is the idiot and also the rest of your family or maybe
your own clan. how can you say that to our shamcey did u watch how
such a loser those rest of the candidates using a interpreter

          • lol

          • Jose luis torres says:

He means you are cry babies when you don’t win. Whine, whine is all we hear from you people. give it a rest. The results are in and the true winner is Miss Angola. Be nice and be happy for her

          • manuel llobregat says:

i dont think you are an idiot.. but you mongoloid!!!! just look at the pageant again and tell me if the other 4 did not did some tricks to improved their answers. of course thru the help of thier interpreter….u dont need to insult people coz their will be millions of us who yu have to deal with.. perhaps in your neighbor…

          • maccupex: well, hey, maybe you should REREAD my comment. I WASN’T in the slightest bit insulting Shamcey! I was merely pointing out that ed’s comment about the crying has absolutely NO RELEVANCE to a lot of our comments here… so don’t you dare go around insulting my family for you not understanding my comment!

        • RACISM!!!!!

        • is there such thing as average looking???….
all i know is some old saying like BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER!
          i wonder how u look like..hmmm..

          • Yeah, that’s how you know these “miss universe” pageants are BS. ( : Same with all beauty pageants or whatever you want to call them.

      • The questions and answer part was not the only criteria for the winner. If you had benn watching the pageant, you would know that.

      • Oprah is entitled to her opinion but I see nothing wrong with Q n A

      • Mr. Crisostomo, i’m sorry to say that this is not true

      • this has not been proven and in fact, this has been denied by Harpo Productions staff.

      • Its about time Oprah find the person who made up that lie, and sue them for liable ,
She and her people have denied this over and over again, and you people are constantly
repeating this lie. She would have made a big mistake of her public life, had she truly said
something even close to that. In truth had she said that, then she would have been accusing
miss Angola oF cheating. And would been a crime On Oprah’s hehalf. OPRAH AND PEOPLE HAVE DENIED SAYING THIS.

  4. U r so beuatiful I see..I have great teeth..great body..just take care all that..love u..

  5. Supachai Kobbun says:

    The Best ! “Miss Univers 2011″ ^__^

  6. It is obvious Miss Phillippines is more smart, talented, more gorgeous.
for us she should be the winner.

    • Rubbish, she was not the best, she couldn’t even walk in high heels! Yes, she should have been 1st or 2nd runner up ,,, however, no not the winner!

      • therefore she dont deserve her title as 3rd runner, if not the title she must have got the 1st runner up title

        • Honestly I think somebody cheated to have her even placing third, She had very
little about her to recommend as beautiful, and her answer was downright foolish and narrow
          minded.

    • being a filipino myself, i should agree with u guys… but then religion is a very sensitive topic…. besides she answered:
Miss Philippines: No. I will not change my religion because the first person I love is God. He is the one who created me. And the principles and values that I have now is because of Him. So if that man loves me, he should also love my God

God is not a person….and So if that man loves me, he should also love my God maybe the line that did not probably wow the judges…

      she could have said -
So if that man loves me, he should accept me for what I believe in…

she could go for a romantic note – if i love that person i would not ask him to change his beliefs… i will accept him, no ifs or buts…. and id probably expect the same from him

    • It’s obvious that you are dumb. Poor you :)

    • Well I imagine you taped the show to watch Miss Philippines strut around, but can you watch the whole show, I can bet you will see that Angola, was not only more beautiful, but her answer was sophisticated, with a vital intelligence, in answering her question, she was also able to throw some humor in it, so with that,, she won on talent as well. All the women were beautiful, but Angola was extraordinary, And the judges agrees with me, they gave the crown. Shamcey unfortunately came across as plastic, fake and fanatical, her answer is what did her in, you cannot be narrow minded and win Miss Universe. So think I successfully debunked you premise.

  7. ms angola needed A TRANSLATOR to answer a simple question..my gosh.

    • Sarrie, how IGNORANT are you to make such a PATHETIC comment? Very! You aren’t able to write English. English is NOT the litmus of the world. OK moron, Universe does not mean the United States you under exposed IDIOT! Duhhhhhh

      • Calling people ignorant, English did not come from United States you know.

      • Harley, you are pathetic! which part of the world are you from?

      • True. For one to be able to speak and understand english clearly is not the basis for a persons intelligence or how smart she is for that matter. Another filipino mentality that is not highly commendable. Everyone is a winner. Congratulations ladies you made your countries proud!

      • markymark ng pinas says:

errr?? miss barbers.. u dont have to say bad words .. im a filipino but dont say anythin like that??ok .. in my opinion with the topic we must respect what the judges dhave the pecides and besides we dont run the pageant .. we dont have the power to conclude hus the winner or wat?? ehe

        • The point almost 90% of all the Philippinos comments are not positive about Miss Angola winning. And that is what making other angry. They some have even said the judges should be disqualified for the decision they made. I honestly think that based on the responses of the this years winner, as well as last years and years gone by. It seems Philipinos will
          accept the winner.

    • Well, she chose her native language to dignified her country. She speaks English very well. She is currently a student in Great Britain. Choosing her native language made her won! What a beautiful attitude!

      • CURRENT STUDENT???….WELL, .SHAMCEY IS THE TOP NOTCHER OF THE
        LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR ARCHITECTURE!!!…tsk!..

    • Sarrie!

How many times I would explain this. Ms. Angola did not use English in her answer because her choice and that is to DIGNIFIED HER COUNTRY by using the native language. FYI she speaks better English than Shamcey as she is currently as student in Great Britain. Thats what I think made her won, her attitude, being patriotic to her country. She has this historical winning because of her humbleness, charm, beauty and brain!

      • … and that’s okay! I think she really made her country proud, but dont you think she should have answered directly the question in her own language ? why does she have to wait then for an interpreter to finish the question? it’s like then she’s really buying time to think.

        • i THINK YOU GUYS IN THE PHILIPPINES NEED TO CALM DOWN AND ACCEPT, THAT YOUR GIRL LOST TO HER.

    • she is an african, she does not have to speak your language you idiot. is english the baseline for knowledge. jackass!

    • oh sarrie, FOR SURe u wr one of those people how didn’t even knew that a country with the name Angola exists, not mention in what continent it is. For you information ignorant girl, Leila speaks english fluently :) not to mention that she studies in one of the best universities of the UK

Use your small brain for something useful and go read!! :)

    • dumb ass fool !!! Angola speak f**cking Portuguese not “english”.

    • DAH, so what. Its called the Miss Univerise Pageant.

    • Yes Sarrie, you are stupid

  8. I completely believe that the most beautiful candidate won. Miss Angola was genuine, beautiful, wore the best evening gown and wanted to win with all of her heart. She deserves to be Miss Universe 2011. Congratulations Leila!

  9. she was great…Soo happy that she won. It was so fair..Loved it

  10. Yes the right woman won. She is real and doesn’t look like she has any surgery. For a country like Brazil where racism still exist towards Blacks and Indigenous people, the people need to over come that western look that it is beautiful. Brazil still has bigotry and knowingly that there are 90% of blacks that came to their country from Africa, you may think that they will embrace racial mix and beauty.

    • Mikhaile, absolutely! RACIST people will think otherwise. For example, the person that wrote the Article. What for a question,,, did the right person win! She was the most qualified. She answered her question exceptionally well. She said, I don’t care about my outer beauty; it is internal what matters. RACISM is destroying the US! It has to STOP! This Article is atrocious!

  11. Yes………………………………………………………………..!!!! She shoiuld have won.

  12. yeah thats right!!! miss Philippines answered better than other country. They should crown the right one,who has got the best answer. wel, unfortunately USA did not make it to top.,. the winners deserves there titles and crowns., but for me Philippines deserves the cown.,

    • The winner is best on everything over all. Miss Phillipines did give the best answer but Miss Angola’s was great and over all she deserved to win.

      • but miss angola did not finish her answer ..for me the winner is miss philippines .mabuhay filipino ..:))

        • its sad to see how fillipinos are barking all over the place well atleast they have something they can try doing besides being a serving nation yah they all always strive to be maids both men and women anyway miss Angola was great as much as i would have wanted miss u.s.a. to win so filipinos go back to the kitchen

          • How dare you!

          • FuhjireyesFFuhjireyes says:

Jenna atleast Filipino how to work and even you called them MAIDS it’s hardwork money.why have you ever been in Angola?do you know what kind of life in Angola?

          • that’s so upsetting miss JENNA, you wanted your candidate to win but did she make it to top 5???? you have the right to say your opinion but don’t be so rude to filipinos, we are just talking about the miss universe and what on earth you say that.. poor thing.. go back to school so you can learn some MANNERS and RESPECT.. God bless you..

          • Put it in mind JENNA!!!
Oprah Winfrey say’s via NBC News
“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”^^

          • This is the perfect example of complete and total ignorance! For you to say that the Philippines is a serving nation is a mark of how tiny your brain is and your lack of respect for others. Please note, that though you may find a lot of so-called “servants”, it is because they had to work this “servant jobs” outside of their country to provide better lives for their families. Had it been easier economically to live in their own country, they would not be washing someone else’s ass and taking care of other couple’s children. You must know as well, that though they work as “servants” in other countries, they are educated and know more than your shallow brain. It would be highly beneficial to you if you think 5x before you open your mouth (or write) rather than ending up to having your dirty foot stuck in your mouth.
To every Ms. Universe contestants, you are all beautiful and a great embodiment of a real woman.

          • i feel sorry for you jenna… there is nothing wrong in expressing opinions and if u read it carefully no one said bad things about the other contestants. it only shows how tiny ur brain is… and those maids well – i salute them for working hard just to feed their families and its a decent job. what about u? what if u don’t have a nice job, u’ll probably end up whoring urself or wait for ur government to feed u… haha lazy bitch!

          • jenna i dont know what country u’re from, but why not look around u,
i believe ur country is not the most blessed one and i strongly blive there
also women in ur country who works as maids, or worst..a slave..dont downgrade other people basing on their kind of work, for in compare with those u called maids…they are more honored for they work with humbleness than u who speaks like a rotten rat…
stink!!! watch ur words, it reflects what kind of person u r…ugliest among the ugly!!!

          • Jenna!! Shame on you!!! Did your parents teach you to have MANNERS??

          • yes! in kitchen… also in Movie theater, radio, billboard, stage, fashion. name it. there is much to mention coz we are simply talented. how bout u Jenna? try to find out wat u got..

          • oh poor jeena if only you know, how talented are filipinos.even though you called
them slave but that slave knows how to speak english even though some of them
are not graduated in a degree course but still they can understand english, they dont need interpreter…
            .

          • Juana Dela Cruz says:

i’d rather be a maid rather than be a prostitute like the europeans or have aids like the africans, unemployed like the latinas because they are uneducated nobody wants to hire them and especialy i dont want to be a white girl because they are lazy whores who loves to suck men’s cocks!!!!

          • ulol!! kamukha mo siguro si kingkong noh???

          • spell it right.. FUCK YOU JENNA! go back to school back to school and learn some RESPECT!

          • Jenna, go to your mother and earn some respect…!!! I believe in the power of KARMA, we might not know you or see you, but KARMA is everywhere..!!

          • Hey Jenna! Who ever you are, you don’t have the right to degrade Filipinos like that! You stupid racist bitch! Don’t ever set your foot in the Philippines and we’ll peel your skin alive! Dumb ass racist!!!

          • Oh absolutely Mistress Jenna. Back to the kitchen shall I go, but fair warning, be careful of what you eat and enjoy your meal, for it may be your last. Just remember like you said, Filipinos are everywhere. Be careful now dearie and whenever you can drop by hell, can you send my regards to your mother down there! Thank you so much my mistress. My God have pity on your pitch-black soul.

          • You mad Jenna? uMAD?! 3rd place, wheres your stank ass country. Fuck you and your life,

          • Guy from Canada says:

            Hi Jenna,

            Fuck you. :)

            Love,
            Mel

          • Fuckyou bitch with feelings.. . =)

          • Jenna: Certified American Bitch says:

It’s is good to serve people with goodwill and a helping hand rather than serving fucking perverts like you did best you fucking bitch!

          • that is really uncalled for ms. jenna, not sure what planet u came from but you really need to go back to school and learn some manners, just to bad that your parents are the one getting blame for ur stupid reaction.. I am currently in the U.S., and I am not anybody’s maid.

          • How dare you Jenna you don’t know what youre talking about!!!! Discriminating Filipinos won’t make you pretty and famous….ATTENTION SEEKER DUH…. you are so RUDE and DISDAINFUL…

          • i bet you should be very carefu with yuor words!!! RACISM!!!

          • Hay Racist Bitch!!!!!!!!!! If we are maid’s, why did we reach the Final 5? Maybe your bet which is Ms. USA looks more like a maid because she wasn’t included in the Top 5. Haha. Poor you!!! Well at least our national bet in Ms. Universe won 3rd place. Your bet didn’t win!!! By the way, I know you are american but we also have Pacquiao, The world’s #1 boxer who made Mayweather so coward and doesn’t like to fight Manny because he knows he’ll be knocked out. We also have Charice who is the Idol of every teenager in the world.

          • that is uncalled for ms. jenna, I dont what planet you came from but you really need to go back to school and learn some manners and respect.. I feel sorry for your parents because they will be blame for your reactions. I live in the united states, and I can tell you, I am nobody’s maid!!! We have nothing against Ms. Angola, we do congratulate her, but I think the judges made a mistake…

          • Omigosh! FYI Imbecil! Filipinos are all over the Professional Field… Not only they are Maids, BUt MOST of them are in Health Profession! have you been to the hospital lately?! MOST OF THE NURSES are FIlipinos!!! What about the Homecare?! there are FIlipinos too!!! Oh well, lets see, you might end up bein My Patient one day, or worst on your part, surrounded by Filipino Nurses… lets see how more rude can you get once a “filipino is taking care of you” goodluck! :)

          • ;jenna: Even some of Filipino’s are maids its not means we are poor…
we are proud to say that we have rich in heart…Jenna hope u will learn how
            to respect other nation!!

          • Bitterness is what you feel! the maid you are talking is the third runner up.
            How does it feel? hahahaha…

          • u r gud- for -nothing leech…hu doesn’t have anything to b proud of….shame on u…..

          • i am filipino! says:

            ur such an idiot jenna!!

          • hi jenna, hope you are happy with the way you judged the FILIPINOs… and that you see yourself higher than them.. i just wish your heart is at peace that you have aired to the world that you are higher than all of the Filipinos… i just wish you are happy that you are rich and perfect and that you have maids who came from the Philippines…

thank you so much for your judgement… and i hope you will not be judged by the way you have judged…

          • hu cares f Filipinos are maid? atleast dats a decent job…MS.SHAMCEY shud b the miss universe bt we r happy for ms.Angola…come here in the Philippines dn u wil see that there are many professionals in our country not like others very liberated and lots of whore…jenna just go back to hell….wer ol the demons are waiting for u…and we both know the u belong der…

          • Filipino by blood says:

Thanks for that comment Miss Jenna. It’s just that with what you’ve said,
you have proven who you really are. And remember, you are not bringing
your “jenna” name only. You brought with you your country, The United
States of America. If your country president reads this, I bet he’ll be ashamed
of you. Tsk tsk tsk… Very disappointing from an american woman like you.
I just thought you are educated enough because you are USA. But then
            again, I was wrong. :(

          • JENNA….MAIDS.. MAKES U A BETTER PERSON…
THEY CLEAN UP UR SHITS & THINGS THAT U CAN NOT DO….
maybe they can start cleaning ur big mouth…its kinda stinky

          • Markie C. Candelario says:

to you Jenna……..Philippines is a striving nation but that doesn’t mean we are all servers/maids……..We Filipinos are very intelligent….And mind you, we excel not only in singing, beauty contests, boxing but also on the intelligence side of the competition……Many Math whiz around the world comes from Philippines……….Many great inventors comes from the Philippines…….And eventhough some of us Filipinos are only servers in restos/kitchen abroad, still we thrive to be the best we can be and that means being an Executive Chef in one of the best restos abroad and eventually in the White House…..I think you ever heard of Cristeta Cummerford…….so keep your mouth shut, and don’t insult us Filipinos……..put your big mouth where it belong………….

          • Jenna,
I feel really embarrassed for you. Your statements scream of bigotry and ignorance; and your grammar is atrocious. The only truth in your answer is that we are a people of service. Filipinos are a loving people and they SERVE humanity in many ways as nurses, pharmacists, doctors, lawyers, police officers, engineers, and even as maids. No one strives to be a maid, but one does it to make a better life for his/her family. My mother was a pharmacist in the Philippines, but when she immigrated to the United States she had to take a position as a maid. I can only imagine how heartbreaking and disappointing it was for her to take a job where she could not utilize the education that she had worked so hard to attain, but she knew that there were more important things than her own pride – to support her family.

Too many people in America rely on the government and hard working citizens to support them, but not my mother. This is the true meaning of love and hard work. So please, think before you speak. I hope that one day you will be mature enough to see past the stereotypes and fortunate enough to meet someone like my mother who knows the true meaning of hard work.

          • erika sims - also american who would like for jenna to shut her face and think before she speaks... says:

jenna – have some goddamned respect. shamcey is doing things that you clearly dream of doing when you’re sitting there crying to yourself while looking in the mirror. sorry, you’ll always be ugly, inside and out. hating on her because of her nationality is absolutely disgusting. i’m caucasian as you are, and you are a complete disgrace. get an education and stop spreading hate over facebook – disgusting pig.

          • hey Jenna im not a maid, but for me thats a decent job than doin prostitution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!are u a boss maybe ur working with some one and bein payed off its the same as maid doin what the big boss wants u to do…..

          • Actually the saddest person to see on the Miss Universe…
was the Americans and USA Contestant that never have
any mindful impression from the judges & the viewers.. but
of a cranking human on a ramp…the degradation
that their president had created, a bad image of USA
apart from USA Indebtedness plunders..that even its president
has sworn ..america impossible to pay…the world can only say …
what a misfortune for USA..apart that they can not laundry
its own underware..nor can cook a good meal…
neither know how to clean its own house…pity…pity…

          • Oh. Have you been there Jenna? Because I did, even beggars can speak English. Every person is literate so be careful when you talk about them. You’ll be dead

          • you think that all filipinos are maids???? yes, some filipinos are maids because they need money for their family to survive but don’t be stereotype. maybe we have filipinos who are maid but we are clean to ourselves unlike you, I can smell your SHITS even you are 1 kilometer away from me…. BITCH!!!!

          • you think we are maid try to remember why they are hiring filipinos??? because filipinos are caring, dedicated and compasionate for their work…. so don’t be stereotype because they are just doing that for their family to survive…. don’t act like you are a clean person because I can smell your SHITS even I’m a million kilometers from you!!! BITCH!!!!

          • thumbs down :(

          • SmiLey -> Jenna says:

“Yes madam, will be back to the kitchen” said Cinderella. =)

I wonder what you are in the community to say such thing?

Filipinos do have a great heart.. =)

I hope your parents had teached you some manners.. :)

          • wow, so you really wanted miss U.S.A to win? big dream huh? well, every country would wish the same. but to act as a RACIST is too rash for you just because you wanted your country’s representative to win. HOWEVER too STUPID for you to say that WE FILIPINOS should go back to the kitchen, well i’ll tell you what, WE WHO YOU CALL A SERVING NATION are people who can do almost anything, anything that you couldn’t actually do. Say, can you turn your computer on?, LOL, can you turn your cellphone on?. ROFL i’d rather stop going on, i hate saying things against others (no matter what race) just because of a beauty pageant, but if it’s YOU i would talk to? seeing how you described our country’s people? I SWEAR TO GOD I MIGHT EVEN SPIT ON YOU HAHAH while telling you how BEAUTIFUL AND SMART YOU ARE which will all be a lie of course then ask God for forgiveness HAHAH. one more thing, some of us also takes care of your grand daddy and change their diapers because you couldn’t haha. WHAT CAN YOU SAY?

          • that reply is meant for nobody but JENNA THE PERFECT BEING hahah.

          • @ jenna, your country will be very ashamed…
I would like to ask if you know any VIRTUE,

            Because we Filipinos are RESPECTFUL!
though I admit that some are trying to be
            stupid…

What you said was an understatement…
Try to come here in Philippines and you will see………

            HOSPITALITY!

          • The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves.
~William Penn, Some Fruits of Solitude, 1693

:) God Bless you and your soul Jenna……..

          • Jealousy is simply and clearly the fear that you do not have value. Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point – that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative – self-value. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think it’s a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them. ~Jennifer James

            to jenna……

          • we are happy to know that our bet is n top 3.we are also happy for ms Angola!

            to jenna law ai!

          • Inday The Chambermaid Extraordinaire says:

I pity you for degrading your very own pride and dignity by resorting to this despicable behavior just to seek attention and I hope one day that you’ll realize that you should not insult Filipinos just for the sake of speaking out your opinion which is, for me, filled with pathetic thoughts and did it ever occur to you that being a maid is decent job? *sigh* Jenna,Jenna,Jenna nurture others with positive, truthful words, not words that hurt.

          • Doug in Canada says:

Jenna. What the Hell?!? I cannot believe that all of these ‘people’ are lambasting you with the racist word. I still do not know what you wrote that was so wrong.

            northwestfront DOT org

    • The final question does determine the winner, the base the winner on overall performance during the pageant and the last question. The announcer did state that.

    • i believe that miss philipines is the real miss univers she deserves the crown more than the other contestant. she answer the question confidently and she dont have any translator .people knows whose own the crown.

      • dumb fool ! just maybe she could have been 1st runner up if she was proud enough to speak TTagalog.

      • Sure you do, but since the judges had to be objective and honest in their choice, they chose the
best to win all the way around, and that was the very beautiful Miss ANGOLA, I don’t
think the word beautiful is a strong enough word to describe her. She was far the most
incredible contestant. And she won the moment she stepped out on that stage. I wanted my country to win, but i had to agree, no one stood a chance, Against Lelia. She was because she was the best.

    • I beg to differ, Miss Philippines in fact had the worst answer, it showed she is bias and narrow minded. Her answer may have cost her a higher placing. Miss Universe is suppose to represent the young women of the world, her answer blatantly showed her intolerance, of any opinion that is different from hers.

    • Anne, Again you are stupid. Shamcey’s answer was the worst. And she came across as phony and ridiculous .The best person won, And Shamcey should have asked HER GOD, how to give an non discriminatory answer, because hers was divisive. The Miss Universe have to meet people of different countries, cultures and religion, and she must be able to honestly interact with them. How will Miss Philippines have acted around people who don’t believe as she does.

  13. I am panamenian and wish sheley will be the winner but i am so happy that was a black woman because in long time i dont see this.
she is so beautiful congrats and enjoy the victory…

  14. I feel the right person won! Miss Angola held her self graciously. She is Miss Universe 2011 inside and out! Now run tell dat!! Lol! Why would anyone say did she deserve it (media) ? Of course she does. Hold your head high and reign in your God Given position, you are an inspiration to all women. Go girl!!

    • Amen Veronica? What for a DISGUSTING Website / Media etc… to question if she deserve to win? This country, US is among the WORSE in the world. What for people are in that country? DESPICABLE! The young woman won because she earned the title! This Article she be about celebrating the woman… oh no, they have to be RACIST and question her win. SHAMEFUL and PATHETIC!

      • NAGMAMAGALING KASE EH! says:

This just a poll/survey TANGA! The writer only wants to know what people think! Wag kang. O.A!

        • tomoh.. ang bobo nman nyan.. bwahahah

        • how i wish tagalog is understood by everybody in this poll, so NAGMAMAGALING KASI EH! try using the universal language at least when you do trash talks, oh, please translate TANGA? please translate “wag kang O.A!” LOL .it looks to me you’re such a low life haha, i’m a Filipino and i would like to emphasize ETHICS AND MANNERS. moron.

      • Ms. Angola deserves to win! I’m a filipino and so proud also with what shamcey had done but this is a competition and should accept what had turned out. in the first place, the world or rather the universe see that we pilipinos are really beautiful and wise. :) )

      • KUDOS to you for calling the nitwits out.

  15. Magestuoso evento es Preciosa Miss Angola soy venezolana y aunque Vanessa tambien estaba preparada y es hermosa en otros paises del mundo tambien hay mujeres bellas y preparadas Felicidades Miss Angola

  16. Miss Philippines :(

  17. omg ,i am so happy for u hon ,congrats.love love you

  18. Pageant Expert says:

She is unconventionally pleasant looking.. but among the actual top 5 – Ukraine had the best overall personality..

  19. I never saw the contest and I never expected that Miss Angola won she deserves it even though I am into Japanese women waiting to see a third title and I am not Japanese well Miss Angola deserves to win I am glad that Miss Venezuela nevr won this one.

So for a country that sufferd an earthquake and tsunami who would you think could be a better candidate a pure blooded Japanese or a mixed with black and Japanese ?

  20. frace jeanette says:

CONGRATULATION!!! Ms. PHILIPPINE i’m proud of u..absolutely your talented no doubt and CONGRATULATIOn our wenning MS UNIVERSE 2011 MS ANGOLA u deserve it!

CONGRATS both of u TOP5 wenning for MS UNIVERSE..

  21. the competition was ended and please respect the judgement..!!!

  22. It’s based on an all around performance an even thou Ms.Philippines did have an outstanding answer at the end she did not perform as good as the winner Miss Angola Leila did in other areas … Congratulations to the other 88 woman but most important congrats to the winner she was an eye catcher from the very beginning of the show so beautiful .!!!

  23. Bridget G Togans says:

    Amazing! Congratulations “home girl.”

  24. Bridget G Togans says:

    Amazing! Congratulations “home girl.”

  25. IT’S UNFAIR FOR PHILIPPINES AND VENEZUELA

Venezuela got the highest score in swimsuit. She got 9.1. The other contestants got 7 and below score. She was not mentioned to the top10 even in the top 5. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SCORES??????

Philippines has the edge from other contestants because she is the ONE who answered the question without a translator. Even though she don’t have a translator, she gave the best answer.

    • My dear James, just becasue you garner a 9.1 in the swimsuit conpetition, does not automatically make you a winner. And because she answered the question with a translator, so what. It is called the Miss Universe Pageant. You people are something else.

    • Jose luis torres says:

You don’t get it do you? The scores were fan votes. Just a ploy. These are not judges scores. Did you not hear? The judges did not even review, see, use these scores OR were aware tbey were posted. These scores were not utilized to influence the judges. THEY WERE MEANINGLESS. So stop referring to them as a gauge to see where the delegates stood. The judges scores were never shown. So again, it’s A then B, then C. Your numbers are 1, 2, 3, and so on. That simple. But did you get it? Doubt it. Congratulations to Miss Angola, Miss Universe 2011.

    • James maybe she should have answered in her native tongue, her answer was bigoted . I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have voted for her. and if you read the other comments from people around the globe, they disagree with you all 100%. We liked Shamcey when she was on the show, and was happy for her. But you guys have turned people off with you negativity about the winner, and now we all feel cheated that she even in the contest. After she answered her question, she completely turned most people off, because she pretty much said she was a bigot. To be in an international beauty contest, and answering a question with such divisiveness directed at anyone who don’t think like her, is true prejudice.

    • I agree. I came out with a sense that the voting was rigged. Venezuela blew the rest of the competition out of the water when the votes showed up on the screen and yet she did not make the group of 10.

    • NAGMAMAGALING KASE EH! says:

Yeah., me too thinks that the scores are useless

      • Next time.. Let’s try not to vote. It’s just a waste of time and money. No more Miss universe.

        • Jose luis torres says:

Exactly. Why vote? Save your money, time, frustration, and aggrevation. Enjoy the show for what it is. Entertainment. And friendly competition between beautiful women of the world. It’s just a show. My all time favorite Miss Universe is Cecilia Bolocco, Miss Chile, 1987, Miss Universe 1987.

  27. Miss Philippines!!!!

  28. Why not?

  29. what in hell happened same bullshit thats why i dont watch this bullshit

  30. she shouldnt have been in the top 16

  31. Seriously I dont think they even count BEAUTY as a thing when choosing Miss Universe ,…. I’m pretty upset that Ms.Korea and Ms.Philipines didn’t made it through but anyway CONGRATS !!!

  33. judging fair may lead all countries to be united in participating pageants along the universe. The more entrants the happier.

  34. Congratulations to Ms. Leila Lopes!!! You really deserve the crown…It’s quite a long time since I heard a black won such prestigious title.I salute the judges who jugded every candidate with what they really deserve…Flaw in every competition such as this especially
in question and answer portion is likely to happen…you should understand folks that
it’s really easy to comment when you’re not in their position at that moment where
every eyes are focused on you.Let’s look also the assets of this young lady from Angola.
Beauty should not be characterized by physical attributes only, that must be accompanied
by the values and humanity.Racism will not help everybody,it’ll only destroy our relationships with others. I’m not from Angola neither from US,but let’s respect everyone’s
culture and race, respecting others will not cause any harm to anyone.

  35. What is wrong with this site? It seems the comments are taken off.

  36. Congratulations to the new Miss Universe! She was a fan favorite and I am happy she won. The audience LOVED her!

As for the comment about her needing a translator, I think she responded to the audience. Portuguese is spoken in Brazil and in Angola.

  37. Jose luis torres says:

I am American. I really was very happy to see Miss Angola win Miss Universe 2011. My second choice would have been Miss Ukraine, Miss China third and Miss Brazil fourth. My fifth choice would have been Miss Panama. Yes the right woman won, and I wish people would not refer to us being racists. If anything, it’s the Filipinos and valezuelans who can’t accept that their delegates don’t win. You win some, you lose some. Accept it and get over it. Especially the Filipinos. And I just betit was a Filipino who posed that question and not an American. They are sore losers. We are the melting pot of the world, after all.

    • NAGMAMAGALING KASE EH! says:

Wag ka mag magaling ha! Kc mrmi namamatay sa maling akala. How sure are you na Filipino nag tanong nito TANGA!!!!

    • … respect others that’s all that matters!!! it only shows how narrow – minded you guys are… first of all this is for “opinions”.. so if you can’t hold your temper then you should not be here… and by the way… you’re also one of the people who can’t get over it!! so, get lost!

    • am sorry? what did you just say? your the melting pot of the world?, haha are you kidding me,?? if you are, then why is your country experiencing recession???

  38. I am a Filipino…but i say that Miss Angola deserves to be the Winner
She is beautiful and Intelligent…a whole package

Miss Philippines answered the question very well…but
Miss Angola’s answer is much better

I’m proud of Shamcey to be able to make it in the Top 5..its a feat for the Philippines to be able to place in two consecutive years

    Congratulations..!!!!
    Miss ANGOLA Leila Lopes
you are a deserving Winner of Miss Universe 2011

    • tama!!!

    • ProudPinoy, I must congratulate you on taking a stand, that is unpopular with some of your countrymen/women. Many of us are so terrible disgusted by their comments and their inability to accept the true winner. Yet you offered your comment, and opinion, knowing that it displease and enrage some your fellow PHILIPPINOS .In doing so you made statement worthy of the united nations, you are to be commended for your honesty. Its people like you in every country, that can teach many of us a better way to live. It would so nice if others follow your suit.

  39. Jose luis torres says:

The scores being shown were fan votes and not judges ratings. Not even the judges were aware of these scores. I don’t understand why this is done. As you can see, it causes so much confusion and anger all over the world. But they do announce beforehand, that the scores are not taken into account by the judges except for the 16 th place as only 15 delegates are chosen by the preliminary judges. So everyone nerds to chill and congrats to Miss Angola. Very deserving.

  40. Yes…I agree with you

I am a Filipino..as much as i want Miss Philippines to win (so as the other countries to their contestant) i say that Miss Angola deserve to win

  41. Am happy because the deserving lady carried the night,,,,Leila thanks for making African proud.

    • I am not African, but she made me proud as well, being from the Caribbean/ Trinidad, we had the good fortune of Winning the title twice, both are beautiful black women. 1977, Janelle Commissiong was the first black to have ever won the crown, what a beautiful Angel she was. And 1998, Wendy Fitzwilliam won, she was beautiful poised and graceful. My feeling of pride for Miss Angola, is second only too our two beautiful winners.Janelle and Wendy. And may I say, Leila is very deserving the crown. No one came close to her. Congratulations Leila, Angola, Africa, and all other nations, You a the pride and joy of the Miss Universe pageant inc. For those who fail to recognize her as the true winner, Go back and watch it show all over again, more objectively this time, and you will she truly deserve the crown, if this was a horse race, she would have led 20meters in front of the others. And that’s all I have to say.

  42. even if im not a filipino miss phil. should be the winner

    • Well that is sporting of you, but what is it that makes you feel that way? As you say even if you are not Filipino you feel Miss Philippines should have won.I have a sneaking suspicion, there’s a lot of Philippino in you.

  43. I like to know what interest the Trump group has over Angola, or other country in Africa, maybe the pay more than China! BCS this Miss Universe was 100% fraud…

  44. Yup! whats the porpuse of the fan votes…???

I am proud being a filipino. In joining contest like they should know how to speak english. Congrats Miss shamcey..!!!

  45. HATERS!!!! She f*cken deserved it! Out of all those women, she was CLEARLY the most beautiful. FINALLY a darker woman won! (no disrespect to other races AT ALL)

  46. Nie była moją faworytką, ale gratuluję.
    http://punkt30.blogspot.com/

  47. creo que es bonita pero no me parece que se merecía la corona para mi es un fraudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  48. Juulio Pitra Neto says:

Enhorabuena for all of us…she’s precious;))

  49. for me MISS Angola was the right one, even though I liked Miss Philipines

  50. am so proud a beautiful African woman won this title… ofcourse she deserves it,why posing that question anyway, Africa dsnt deserve it? am proud coz i biliv the last person from Africa to have won Miss Universe was from my country Botswana 10 yrs ago… congrats Leila & yaaaaa, u deserve it!!

  51. Congratulation Miss Angola

  52. marichou b. duguil says:

shamcey supsup should be the winner.
but its alright bec. she made filipinos proud to her..!!!!

  53. Miss China should’ve won. Miss Phillipines? Gross. Angola & Ukraine were beautiful.

    • is it really JEN.. are you from china? hope you are happy for what have you said.. God bless you..

    • Wow! You’d go THAT low? Why say “Gross”?
I doubt you’d even come close to Shamcey (not even by an infinitesimal bit).
But if you are, then, good for you! Just don’t go around knocking down Shamcey because you’re bitter that she had an incredible fan base.

    • that makes jen happy.. to insult others… so let her be..God knows where she belongs…

    • Jen: Stupid whore!

    • you are entitled to your own opinion but what you just said wouldn’t make you any better. I don’t think you can even do the “Tsunami Walk”.

    • @ jen .. miss philippines is the most beautiful and talented contestant …
u cant call her gross because u dont even knw how kind , intelligent and talented she is .
so i think u should keep quiet

    • are you sure???? did you understand her answer???? Poor girl if you are satisfied with her answer…. You are idiot!!!! Bwahaha….

    • MORONS can be identify through their words… congrats Jen, you are the living PROOF of the MORONS… bwahaha…

    • Its funny how the Philippinos talk crap about the winner, but once someone says something they don’t like about your girl, they are so critical, watch the post you guys have posted. You all are the most negative And hateful. Can’t have it both ways. And I agree Shamcey is gross.

  54. Congratulations Ms. Angola!! You have made Angola proud and Africa ;-)

  55. Ms. Angola deserves to win! I’m a filipino and so proud also with what shamcey had done but this is a competition and should accept what had turned out. in the first place, the world or rather the universe see that we pilipinos are really beautiful and wise. :) )

  56. Ms. Jen..what do you mean gross?!?

  57. i just can’t beleive with my two microscopic eyes inspite of those points Philippines didn’t win the crown. Oh well better luck next time. Congratulation Ms. Angola

  58. True enough. Racism is the epitome of ignorance. Congratulations to Ms. Angola for winning the crown.

    • i disagree with you, the thesis of racism is an easy fix rather a rational one, Miss Angola was pretty and charismatic but she was not the most beautiful nor the most prepared. This is a beauty contest, in another words it is a competition, not a consolation prize to bring the crown to the world, otherwise they should rename it, in order to highlight and promote the beauty from every corner of the world….what happened last night was fraud, out of guilt or any other reason…. very bad PR strategy to promote diversity and kindness, instead of a crown why did the Trump Enterprises gave half of this year profits to Africa?, that would validate their values better than titles, crowns or a badly managed sexist event.

  59. Sorry sore graping is a b@tch. Clearly most people here have a problem with that. Disgusting behavior to most of u who cant accept defeat.

  60. Ms. Bangladesh or Ms. Pakistan should have shown their vaginas.. so that people can see how beautiful they are… Ms. Philippines should have punched the judges in the nose.. Ms. Angola answered “once you go black you ain’t never going back fu!!!” Ahhhmmmmmm

  61. excuse me Mr. jose luis torres…Ms. Philippines won and we’re not sore losers fyi we won two consecutive years in this pageant..has ur candidate also won? :)

    • Jose luis torres says:

You must be Venezuelan cause miss Phillipines has never win two in a row. You’ve won twice but not in a row. And yes you are sore losers. You need to read comments of previous years when your country did not win. That goes for Venezuela and philipines. You come out of your skin claiming fraud, cheating, stealing the crown. I call it sour grapes and sore losers. And yes Miss USA has won this pageant many times. And I’m sure you will make comments about Muss USA 2011. Go ahead.. You’re entitled. But, it’s really tiresome of the stuff you say. To Miss Angola, congratulations.

  62. excuse me Mr. jose luis torres…Ms. Philippines won and we’re not sore losers fyi we won two consecutive years in this pageant..has ur candidate also won? :)

  63. Wow u are retarded and your name clearly implies it. Im sure you look more apey like than the beautiful african lady that won the pageant. Racism is the epitome of ignirance and you are clearly on the hallmark of it.

  64. you are definitely bad calling the crowned ms. universe as monkey. she, i think, is the most beautiful lady in the pageant. u have a monkey attitude…so bad of u.. :(

  65. Next years Ms Universe Philippines send someone like Ms. Angola or better yet Ms. Botswana.

  67. Retlametswe Lempadi says:

    she deserves it,beautiful gal….congrats dear!

  68. u know what i can’t even say or write ur name…surely it implies who you are. what the mouth speaketh the heart content…i mean most beautiful lady. white or black it doesn’t matter..attitude matters. :)

  69. huh!?! i’m not an african, sorry…but will love to befriend them though. what’s ur nationality? are u from hell?!? bye citizen of hell.

  70. MS PHILIPPINES DESERVES TO BE MS UNIVERSE 2011……………………….. PERIOD……

  71. Ms.Philippines the best!!! Congratulation Shamcey…

  72. I was really expecting shamsey to be the next miss universe and yes, angola was good she had the looks, and talent BUT!!! for it is unfair for the contestants who answered without translator since there might be a possibility that the intrepretation of the contestant is not very appealing so the translator made some tweeks to make it sound better. :( ((

  73. You are beautiful Leila. You are our pride.

  74. fabulous my ass you OBVIOUS SELF CENTERED HALEY IDIOT!

  75. but miss philippines had great ranks in other competitions…nothing under third place

  76. miss is china beautiful ,smart ,sexy, and intelligent, attractive, tall, ………………….BUT MISS PHILIPINES IS A PERFECT . so i believe she really deserve that crown .

  77. miss is china beautiful ,smart ,sexy, and intelligent, attractive, tall, ………………….BUT MISS PHILIPINES IS A PERFECT . so i believe she really deserve that crown .

  78. miss is china beautiful ,smart ,sexy, and intelligent, attractive, tall, ………………….BUT MISS PHILIPINES IS A PERFECT . so i believe she really deserve that crown .

  79. You guys are funny… Just be proud and happy for all of the winners… Fighting over it won’t change the result… To those who keep saying bad words, why don’t you join yourself in a pageant… Then let see…

  80. And I think the real winner here is the one who posted this question… As this is what he/she wants, for people to react and keep visiting and putting comment to this non-sense question…

Well all the girls in the pageant are all winners, they’re a real beauty and pride of their countries…

    Ciao…

  81. First off, I would like to congratulate Miss Angola for winning the most coveted title–Miss Universe2011!!!.. No doubts at all though I am a true blooded Filipino. Thing is, Shamcey deserves better than 3rd runner up. Right????! She even got high scores in most of the Categories. I pity those who didn’t see the BEST of you Shamcey!!!.or should I say, discrimination still exists?. I even sensed it from the start of the competition, commentators can’t even say something “pleasant” to our Representative–just noticed though!..

    • you’re right… i ‘ve seen it live.. and i noticed that they don’t say anything bout Ms Philippines.. But look, even if no one built her up to the crowd, she still end up being the 3rd runner up.. She’s a nice girl with a loving heart..that’s all that matters!

THE MS.UNIVERSE 2011 IS THE BEST OF ALL PAGEANT EVER.THE INTRO THE SWIMWEAR,THE EVENING GOWN GOSH THEY ARE LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL AND FABULOUS….

  83. pissed off!

  84. hahahahahahahaha…..Look at the amount of jelouse people here :P :P my good. The bad thing is that you can’t go back in time hahahahaha. Weather you want it or not, weather miss this or that, did this or that. Miss universe is Miss Angola. Swallow that hahahahahaha

P.S: You all should stop saying the shit that u r saying here, and remember that miss universe it’s not chosen on the day of the event. That’s the reason why they spend days doing what they did.

  85. Yeah right! The thing is, what happend will never be back. Let’s accept it. Everybody deserves it.
For those who insisted that miss this or that should win, why the hell are you questioning the result? Are you the judge? Every person has its own opinions or let’s say different eyes, we might see others really very appealing and others may not see it. The thing is, what’s done is done. You have nothing to do with it and the result is final and irrevocable. Accepting the truth will really set you free. :D
for that, CONGRATULATIONS to all the WINNERS!

  87. hahahahaha….poor you lol, poor of spirit, poor of knowledge, and probably poor on the pockets that can’t even buy a book to read useful stuff. Continue fighiting with yourself and your jealousy. The “ape” won miss universe :) where was the woman from your country???

    hahahahaha poor people lol

    • Ape??? seriously!! Were u referring to yourself??? POOR YOU!!

    • I dont know what your country is Luis, I’m mexican.
But I know that no country is proud of someone who thinks like You.

    • seriously luis, the what you call “ape” is far more beautiful, intelligent, has manners, and other good stuff.. well, if being a normal person requires that i need to think like you and talk shit like you, i rather choose to be an ape.. :)

    • I hope you should join Shamcey and her God, so maybe you can become a better person.

  88. Answering a Miss Universe Question in your native tongue with your interpreter does not imply that you are proud of your native tongue. It is simply a strategy wherein the contestant can have more time think for the answer of her question. I thought all the top 5 were beautiful and each deserving but if we were to base on the final question alone, Miss Angola in my opinion did not deserve it. She had the easiest question, as cliche as “World Peace”, she fumbled in her answer and she had run out of time. But the judges did not base solely in the pageant night but in the pageant time and those 3 weeks made Miss Angola the winner. Miss Angola was beautiful and she stood out from the rest. For the rest of the pinoys, i guess Shamcey’s answer was not politically correct as explained by the poster “Green Lantern”. So congrats to all the winners! They all deserved it! Take it easy my fellow pinoys, we have next year.

    • Well, next time I guess Ms. Philippines should also try answering the question in their native tongue to be fair or it is even much better if there is only one question to the 5 finalist so that you can really compare and you know who got the best answer.

      • oo nga dapat may magaling na interpreter ang pinoy tapos ang isasagot lang nang pinoy is “pagbutihin mo ang english kundi papatayin kita” hahaha kailangan yong interpreter ay bakla.

    • You are wrong. And tell me how Angola question easy,I suppose because her answer was on point, and intelligent. Your negativity, tell people around the world, the true nature of your people, since 99% percent of Philippines are very negative toward the winner, Wouldn’t want to be one of you.

  89. Miss Universe is a package. Beauty, body, brain and elegance. Ms. Philippines deserves the crown. I’m sure that Angola’s score will be deducted due to his over time and her answer was trim down by the interpreter for her not to exceed to much. The reason why they were in the top 5 coz they are all perfect and the only way to see their imperfection is the way they answer the final interview and Philippines did it very well. Angola even knows how to speak English. She is so selfish that she only wants people from her country understands her. Courage is part of the pageant and Angola don’t have one coz she plays safe. For me, Ms. Philippines is the Miss Universe 2011.

    • u’re right paul. in a competition like ms universe, it is highly recognizable if the contestant answers the question in a language in which the majority of the world understands not just for the sake of the few, knowing that ms angola knows how to speak english fluently (as they say),translator is not an issue if only the contestant could poorly speaks in english NOT FOR ANY CONTESTANT WHO SAYS TO BE INTELLIGENT AND FLUENTLY SPEAKS THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE….????
      think twice people

  90. leila congratulations. Its so heartwarming to see you win. u look demure and regal. But if i were to judge of course my vote goes to ms phils. I enjoyed how she used her brains and charm and strategized her way to the judge radars like the way she walked or introduced herself. Like Leila she possess a beauty within her that is both enchanting and refreshing.

  91. I agree with Mathilda, BUT must remind her and Paul Smith that. NO, here question was not about world peace, that was the question for miss Brasil and, we CANNOT say that it’s a strategy to make the girls gain time to think. Because apart from miss Philipines any other girl spoke in English. So we simply cannot say that English factor, WAS ENOUGH to make miss Phillipines miss universe.

To finish, let me remind you, that Leila didn’t runned out of time to answer her question, she answered her question, what she was doing at the end was thanking and telling people to have a good night “in portuguese”

  92. Congratulations lady are you by far the best in the world espectacular woman.

  93. Listen up GUYS, we all know if Miss Universe picked top 5 finalists that just goes to say that these ladies are the most beautiful among all the contestants. Well, you can’t be one of the contestants in the pageant if you’re “NOT” beautiful. It’s just that they need to pick the best to be in the TOP 5. Let me just say that PHILIPPINES was one of the beautiful in the TOP 5 that’s why she was chosen. Not to mention, the #1 TOP CHOICE in the FANS FAVORITE all OVER THE WORLD. And had the BEST ANSWER to the Q&A. So, i hope that makes thing CLEAR. PHILIPPINES should be the 2011 MISS UNIVERSE :)

  94. I have nothing against other FINALISTS the JUDGES should be more WISER in choosing the next MISS UNIVERSE. Did you know that it was Lea Salonga who happened to be a FILIPINO as well who asked the question for MISS ANGOLA. She might just gave the HIGHEST SCORE to MISS ANGOLA during the Q&A. So, don’t ever think that we are trying to distruct her for winning the CROWN

  95. I have nothing against other FINALISTS the JUDGES should be more WISER in choosing the next MISS UNIVERSE. So, don’t ever think that we are trying to destruct her for winning the CROWN

  96. I am not gonna make a debate from other people who posts their comments here. Sorry. Coz i know and even the WHOLE WORLD knows who should have won the TITLE MISS UNIVERSE.

    • How small is your world, because so far its only your people who are saying such evil things about the winner. In my world I am happy for Miss Angola. So not the whole world, just yours.
You shouldn’t attempt speak for others. Where I am from, The United States, more people agree that Leila deserves it than not. And people say the US, is the most racist country. I venture to say, the title goes to The Philippines.

  97. definitely Angola did not deserve. all other finalists were better. another case of minority pleasing.

  98. The point here is not who asked the question to her. The point here is, people creating excuses.Whatever u think it’s your opinion (and should start saying “my opionon”), and everybody should respect that AS LONG as it doens’t offend to only her but everyone that supports her. There’s no such thing as THE WORLD knows because as much as there’s people saying YES there’s people saying NO. There’s no such thing as Miss Phillipines answered right, and Angola wrong, because like i said there’s people that didn’t like the way she approached the “religion” theme even tough she gave a clear answer. So don’t say here the WHOLE WORLD, because that is simply not true. The WHOLE WORLD knows who won. And it wasn’t only voted by the judges.

  99. congrats shamcey……ur the MISS UNIVERSE for me….. to JENNA GO TO HELLLLLL
if filipinos are maids and going to kitchen……

  100. Listen up GUYS, we all know if Miss Universe picked top 5 finalists that just goes to say that these ladies are the most beautiful among all the contestants. 101. green lantern.. PANALO answer mo… hahaha

  102. What a joke.

  103. Miss Angola certainly is beautiful – as are all the other contenders, I’m sure! – But, of course, I can’t help contesting (a little bit) against the judges’ decision to crown her. It’s not ’cause I’m a Filipina but because I feel that out of all the Top 5 contestants, Shamcey’s answer had the most relevance to the question. The other ladies had beautiful points, too, but their answers didn’t have the necessary weight.

  104. @jenna ur very kind !!!!someday u’l crawl down like d snake to find ur foods..lhh!!!!

  105. All I see here is a bunch of sore losers from all the losing countries & a hand full of people who can be called decent and civilized… But I must say reading the comments were extremely entertaining… I don’t really care about the pageant or who wins and who doesn’t I just got this link to see how hot the chick was… and DAMN!!!! She is HOT!!! I haven’t even seen the others.. but you guys who fight over this and keep whining are a bunch of retards… Lol… read yal later…

  106. these five ladies end up zero points before the top final questions. meaning, theyre all equally deserve the crown. to choose the best, it nids ice braker base on how they cross the Q&A portion to complete the quality of a beauty queen inc. intelligence, wit, inner beauty etc. english is a plus since the duty of ms universe is not only in Angola. anyways congratulations ms angola. u are first on my bet list.

  107. Your free to speak but,
but think about Ms.Angola; what the people of Angola think about criticism?
but think about Ms.Ukraine; what the people of Ukraine think about having the title?
but think about Ms.Brazil; what the people of Brazil think about why did’t she had to be 2thrun?
but think about Ms.Philippines; what the people of Philippines think about higher rank?
but think about Ms.China; what the people of Ukraine think about making to the top5?

this countries are lucky to make it to the final 5,

how about the others, what would they be thinking right now….?.. jealousy and slight loneliness for those who have high expectations on them..

there will always be next year..so don’t fight..it just a contest,..it will not change your life .. unless you may able to join and participate to show your body and soul hearted mind
to the world(ms.universe).. I think it represents the way you are talking and how you delivered your statement that depicts yourself.

  108. guys, no matter what you say, ms. angola is the obvious selection as ms. universe. if your basis is only on ms philippines not needing an interpreter. try switching their roles and the results will still be the same. this is the choice by the judges and who are you to question their choice when everything is by votes. all contestants are beautiful and smart. but to me angola deserves it more. ..btw im asian too and a flip.

  109. wow i cant believe what i am reading in here…damn

  110. Jenna: Certified American Bitch says:

It’s is good to serve people with goodwill and a helping hand rather than serving fucking perverts like you did best you fucking bitch!

  111. miss angola doesn’t deserve it.

  112. congratulations Ms. Angola ,Ms. Ukraine, Ms. Brazil, Ms. Philippines, Ms. China !!!! i think people should stop arguing who should have won the title coz its been few days since miss angola has won and nothing will change. We all are entitled with our opinions but bad mouthing other people wuldn’t make it any better either they all did they’re best.

  113. I am a Filipino and I am happy with the results.. not satisfied but happy.. I am thankful that Miss Phils. won the 3rd runner up title and she too is very much contented with her title. Each of the candidate deserves the crown so we should stop whining and making negative comments about the winner. I personally believe that Miss Phils. should’ve won a higher place but there we are not the judges on the pagean. IIt was their decision so be it.. and we should respect that.

A lot of people are quite disappointed that up to these days, candidates are still using interpreters. Out of the top 5 candidates, it was only Shamcey who was brave enough to give it a shot and speak in the universal languange. But I don’t give much credits to that, besides most Filipinos are quite good in English and we can’t expect other countries to be that way. It is part of our education curriculum and some countries just don’t pay much attention to it. Some says that candidates get more chance of thinking what to say next while interpreters speak and that it’s not what you say but how you say it. But the truth is, interpreters will remain in this pageant no matter how we want to get rid of them. :D It may be their way to show their patriotism so they chose to use their language but let us not make a big deal out of it. Let us not make this an excuse but instead take it as a challenge. :) . SOME HAVE ALREADY EMERGED with the existence of interpreters so WE can do it again. This year is not just our time i guess. :)

Been hearing negative comments about Shamcey from twitter, facebook, forums and blogs but that is how the world works. You show your face in the public, you compete and all so be ready with all types of reactions. And I think Shamcey is smart enough to understand that.

Anyway, I love how Miss Angola carried herself during the entire pageant. She was poised and confident. I love her height and her face was radiant. Those 89 girls were all deserving but she was destined to get the limelight so let us just live with it. :)

love love love people. IT IS JUST A CROWN. theres more to life than that. :)

  114. People knows who really the winner is!

  115. anniePROUDfilipina says:

Miss Angola deserves her crown so as the other beauties but Miss Philippines doesn’t deserve your pitiful racist comments and suggestions…

let me ask you people, your saying that you’re all better judges than those sitting in the competition who were finely chosen by the organization itself?

Stop your insecurities and just feel happy about the successful Miss Universe competition and feel the spirit of it…

Why do you think these kind of competition was made anyways? For the sake of UNITY and ADVOCACY for every human being living on EARTH.. stopping this foolish fight would be part of the advocacy for a better world..

Again, Congratulations Ms. Angola! You deserve all these blessings…
Also, Congratulations to Miss Ukraine, Miss Brazil and Miss China… they all did their best as long with our Miss Philippines who is well-mannered, well-educated, and God loving, for us PINOYS your still amazing and no.1, Congratulations!

  116. To JENNA. I’m a Filipina, and I’m proud of it. Sorry, we won’t STOOP DOWN TO YOUR LEVEL!

  117. all you racists better go back to your trailer parks! you must be ashamed of what you have put up on here. if you are just gonna say bad things about Ms. Philippines then you have nothing more to do. you

  119. For you to gain RESPECT..please be more respectful too..act, and speak appropriately..education and professionalism starts from within self.,

  120. Where’s Jenna..? Jenna Go to Hell & Fuck your self…!!!!

  121. well, im a filipino and its normal that i would want a filipino to win.but i believe Ms. Angola deserves to be the winner, what i cant accept is that Ms. Philippines won the 3rd place ONLY, she could have been at least the st runner up.everybody has their own opinion and i think its not just what the answer that matters, its HOW the answers we’re delivered.and im i can proudly say that Ms. Phil nailed the question, answerd it confidently and fluently.she doesnt have time to think of her answers coz she doesnt have an interpreter.but just like what Ms. Philippines has to say aboutnthe outcome of the pageant, WE SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT LEILA, has she, SHAMCEY won, she would like other people to be happy for her.

    RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT!!!! Ozi

  125. I think,
we d0nt need to fight for our opinions,
especially we kn0w that n0 one will accept that their opinion is wrong,
ms. Angola deserves the crown and also ms. Philippines deserves it,
but if we are going to look for the reality,
ms. Philippines is c0ntented on what she had on that pageant!
I admire her humble attitude on accepting the truth!
    I hope like shamcey supsup!
    We must accept the truth,
    I LOVE PHILIPPINES!

  130. shut jenna…u r dsgusting…..we r very proud dat we r Filipino….shame on u…..we r educated person not like u…..

  131. guys, let’s not argue with the judges’ decision…nangyari na ang dapat mangyari…Shamcey is still a winner…

  132. of course there will be tons of this in every ending of every competition.. like it should’ve been this, should’ve been that. like you are to decide eh?? but come on, get a life.. its all over.. whats done is done.. just embrace it.. im a proud citizen of the PI and i dont think my country is greater than the other.. and for those people who think Filipinos are like that, in behalf of the whole country, i sincerely apologise, i guess we Filipinos are just responsive to such attack. like we wont be rude if you weren’t to us..thus not make it nor brand the country itself as such.. anyway, im still proud that my country made it to the top 5, because thats 89 countries (right??) and we’re in at top 5 and got the 3rd runner up.. enough said.. congrats to all the winners.. till next year :)

  133. Damn guys! no matter how good your comments are on how Shamcey should have answered that question, you can’t take away the fact that in that moment, those were the words that God whispered to her. Miss Universe is just a competition, and I personally think that Shamcey made a concrete answer that no matter where you are and how critical the situation is, you still put God first above all. She is already beautiful and, hell, she does not need a pageant to prove it. She’s got the beauty, the brain, and the heart. I feel pity for those who criticize her for her answer and those who criticize Filipinos in general.

  134. of course there will be tons of this in every ending of every competition.. like it should’ve been this, should’ve been that. like you are to decide eh?? but come on, get a life.. its all over.. whats done is done.. just embrace it.. im a proud citizen of the PI and i dont think my country is greater than the other.. and for those people who think Filipinos are like that, in behalf of the whole country, i sincerely apologise, i guess we Filipinos are just responsive to such attack. like we wont be rude if you weren’t to us..thus not make it nor brand the country itself as such.. anyway, im still proud that my country made it to the top 5, because thats 89 countries (right??) and we’re in at top 5 and got the 3rd runner up.. enough said.. congrats to all the winners.. ’till next year :)

congratulations to Miss U 2011 Angola!
i got nothing against Ms. Angola, to tell you people the truth she is really attractive & has a humble gorgeous looks. She has a very sexy body & she is very appealing, wise & competitive.
(as well as for all candidates especially for the candidates who reached the TOP 5)
my only “OPINION” in this Miss Universe competition is shamcey deserves better than being the 3rd runner up. besides having a lot of fan votes, she had pretty good performaces on every part of the competition especially the Q & A segment (which i think is one of the MOST significant part of judging)
however, no hard feelings.. i am happy for what she did and accomplished.
thank you for giving your best in this event & you just gave us pinoys another reason to be proud of ourselves!
again, congrats to Ms. Angola for winning the Miss U 2011!
congrats to Ms. Ukraine, Ms. Brazil, Ms. China and MS. PHILIPPINES!
lets just be happy for all of them..

  136. TO THOSE RACIST!!!!! WHY DONT YOU JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY! PATHETIC HUMAN LIKE YOU JENNA!!!!!! THANKYOU!

  137. Filipino by blood says:

I am very happy of the results of Miss Universe 2011. I am a Filipino and I certainly agree that Miss Angola won the pageant. If you’ll try to dissect her answer, it was really good though she was not able to finish it. Her answer was fair and open for everyone. I believe Miss Philippines’ answer was good for us who believe in God. Her answer was sectarian i may say but it was a competition. It maybe that there were judges who are atheists or agnostics in the said pageant. If Philippines wanted to win the competition, she should have thought who were the judges and would this answer be fair to all concerned. Respect could have been her best answer if we talk about religion, especially in today’s age. For that thing alone, Miss Angola had an edge.

On the other hand, if I were the judge, Miss Philippines will certainly grab my vote. It was her opinion, and standing firm for what she thinks is right is just the best way to answer such questions. “Nakakabilib talaga yung prinsipyo nya.” It was admirable and lovable for believers like us. After all, Angola may have pleased the judges, but Philippines certainly pleased our God. And for that, I am with you Shamcey.

For the summary, God was not a judge of Miss Universe 2011. No wonder, Shamcey did not grab that crown. But i’m pretty sure a crown in heaven is waiting for her. God bless you Shamcey! We love you. Another reason to be proud of being a Filipino.

  138. mas deserve si miss philippines

  139. All I Can Say Is Just .. Ms. Philippines Won .. Why ?? Simple .. She / We Filipinos Knew How To Speak English “FLUENTLY” Like Other Countries ..

    Ok .. Ms.ANGOLA WON

But .. Just A Challenge .. .. And As The Ambassadress Of Ms. Universe .. Can She Speak English ??? .. Or .. Can She Go And Take A Tour Or Have A Charity Works To Other Countries ALONE !!! “WITHOUT” “INTERPRETER” … ^>^, NAhh aah aahh …

    That’s All .. CONGRATULATIONss .. What A Win .. .. -.^,

  140. And ONE MORE THING ..

    JENNA .. F * C K – O F F .. B * T C H ..

    T H I N K .. Before You SPEAK .. If You HaVE IT .. Do YOU ???

  141. I’ve seen a beauty pageant before, can’t remember what year (Between 1990 to 1998) or what type of international contest it is. A question was given to the Chinese contestant. And her answer in Chinese is only “Beautiful”. But when the translator translate it in english he made up some ADDED words or phrase to the answer to made it more appealing for the judges. I know this because I could understand the question, the answer and most specially the translation. I’m half chinese half FILIPINO, But my mind and my soul is Filipino. So with this instance we never know what the translator had made up or added to the answer in this years Miss Universe Pageant.

  142. Paano ka matatawag na Miss Universe kung di ka naman makapagsalita ng International language!!!!!

  143. How can Ms. Angola be a Miss Universe if she can’t speak English?? that Q & A part Ms. Angola didn’t finish her answer so there must have been minus points, and I agree with Boy Alegre about “when the translator translate it in english he made up some ADDED words or phrase to the answer to made it more appealing for the judges.” why join Ms. Universe if you can’t even speak the “Universal Language”

    • Because Imbecile English only is not a requirement. From what I am reading Philippinos are really unhappy in their skin. You have a language of your own, yet you cherish English more. That is sad.

  144. Even though Miss Philippines didn’t get the crown this year but that doesn’t mean na it’s already the end of the world for us. May next year pa naman and think positive, at least Shamcey got high rankings in the fan votes and some pageant analysts were actually impressed with her. In fact, she left a legacy in Miss Universe for the Philippines: Her Tsunami Walk at isa pa, she has a good character, remember when she gave pearl earrings to every contestant of Miss Universe and her answer to the Q&A was priceless, she was brave enough to speak out for herself without any interpreters and she was brave enough also to stick to her principles when she answered that question. For short, she was brave enough to be herself. Congratulations to Miss Angola! She truly deserved the crown and also, congratulations to Miss Ukrane, Miss Brazil & Miss China for placing in the top 5. It’s already a big achievement to make it to the top 5 of one of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant.

Remember, it’s just a crown, like one person here said, there’s more to life than that.

  145. hey that’s enough guys lets respect the judges decision Shamcey was contented of what she had won, she had given her best..and Ms. Angola and the rest of the contestants the decision was made and its final..lets just all be happy for them..better luck next time for us Filipinos

Miss universe 2011 3rd runner up Shamcey Supsup.. NO INTERPRETER NO CROWN?? The winner was really questionable. Congrats Ms. Philippines you deserve more than just a crown.

  147. Actually base on my observation shamcey is good enough to the FINAL TOP candidates she gets the higher votes in all aspect and for me her answer is good like Angola .and other 3 candidates .. Shamcey is in the highest level coz FAN Voting shes on top Q&A ..well done!and no interpreter at all than the other candidates ..I hope people u understand it!

  148. Time to move on.

  149. hey, chill…:)

  150. Która piękność była Waszą faworytką?

  151. omaygawd ! ANGOLA WON ? HAHAHAHA.

I can’t believe it. Nigger shouldn’t win. promise.

    they have dark underarms. T.T

    • I wonder if your hatred of the winner, is part of the God, Miss Shamsey loves cause my God doesn’t discriminate nor call people derogatory names.

  152. had a lot on my mind after reading the comments posted here… but i chose not to react anymore to the topic at hand. i just hope that everyone will have a wonderful life ahead… let’s make ourselves a blessing to those we’ll be in contact with. and let’s distance ourselves from negative influences, especially negative people… they’re a bane to our physical, mental and spiritual health… there’s strength in restraint, right?.. jai guru dev.

  153. go0od evening..i am proud to be a filipino!thats all thank you.maraming salamat po panginoon.

  154. Hey.. Jenna– Do you want to taste hell while you are in Earth?? Your Hurting millions
How could you deprecate Filipinos, please don’t took the pageant personally, if you were frustrated of your candidate who weren’t able to reach top you are such a schizoid who needs not rehabilitation but suicide.. well your country is economically declining thank God different nationalities are there to help you up propagate cause We know If an American just will run the country it will never grow, look at your president?? Isn’t he the long lost brother of Ms. Angola??lol careful watch your word.. If that’s the only words you can describe us filipnos, very apparent that your educational system in US is something to be ashamed of.. especially just a poor american girl like you… Maybe I could teach you how to dougie to treat your psychiatric disorder lunatic

    • you guys are screaming bloody hell to Jenna and calling her names, yet many of you have made more offensive comments about the winner and even to use the n word and calling her an ape. She like me must have been disgusted with your comments about the winner, you are so derogatory. You can”t take it but you love to give it.

  155. Me to From africa says:

  156. Jenna next time when you comment be constructive, if you have nothing good to say simple just KEEP QUIET,, were u taught this things?? surely not

  157. Extinuh Saoirse says:

Dang !people here are racists!!! Oh c’mere guys I think Miss Angola deserved the title.. We all should be happy with the results. Besides, Miss Philippines is contented with what she earned..it won’t matter what race they belong if you’re black, white Chinese, Filipino etc.. As long as they’re intelligent, beautiful, with a good personality they all deserve to win…with or without an interpreter? that ain’t count. If the contestant needs the help of an interpreter then why not? as long as they’ve fully expressed themselves .. you don’t have to say rude things about ‘em.. Remember they all struggled to earn their titles… Congratulations to the ladies who made it to top 5 :D Congratulations leila!

  158. Congrats winners.. :)

    > I don’t think Shamcey actually refer God as a person.. I’m not sure if any one of them did not feel nervous.. You are presenting your country.. She have just picked a wrong word, maybe out of pressure, what counts is that she have been confident of her answer (of course with the others too). And true, Q and A is not the only criteria, and I may say some have been subjective. It doesn’t mean that Shamcey is not deserving for the title however it maybe really not for her.. =)

    >I’m proud of all candidates, bet that they have done their best. :)

    > Have a nice day everyone! Please stop fighting (for those who are)

    >Congrats Shamcey!! You may not win the title but you’re still a winner to those who believe in you and support you all through out! That’s more important and valuable! =)

    >Go Go Go!!!! MABUHAY ANG PINOY!!

  159. …NAI-IYAK talaga ako sa performance ni shamcey dahil nakapanghihinayang…SHE RELLY DESERVE TO HAVE THE CROWN…hindi lng talaga inaa-apreciate ng iba….bcoz they have their own bet…pero iba-iba naman tayo ng mga pananaw sa mga bagay-bagay diba..???……MALAY MO, MAY MAS MALAKI PA PALANG PLANO ANG DIYOS KAY SHAMCEY..hindi lng cguro ngayon ang oras….dvah???…

  160. …NAI-IYAK talaga ako sa performance ni shamcey dahil nakapanghihinayang…SHE RELLY DESERVE TO HAVE THE CROWN…hindi lng talaga inaa-apreciate ng iba….bcoz they have their own bet…pero iba-iba naman tayo ng mga pananaw sa mga bagay-bagay diba..???……MALAY MO, MAY MAS MALAKI PA PALANG PLANO ANG DIYOS KAY SHAMCEY..hindi lng cguro ngayon ang oras…dvah???…let us all be diplomatic…peace to all..

    • Siguro nga. Sabi kasi ng iba, tama ‘yung sagot ni Shamcey pero sa perspective ng mga Kristiyano. Kung Miss Universe ka, dapat ang answer mo ay parang “in behalf of all”… Like, representing other cultures, other races, other religions…

  161. …NAI-IYAK talaga ako sa performance ni shamcey dahil nakapanghihinayang…SHE REALLY DESERVE TO HAVE THE CROWN…hindi lng talaga inaa-appreciate ng iba….bcoz they have their own bet…pero iba-iba naman tayo ng mga pananaw sa mga bagay-bagay diba..???……MALAY MO, MAY MAS MALAKI PA PALANG PLANO ANG DIYOS KAY SHAMCEY..hindi lng cguro ngayon ang oras…dvah???…let us all be diplomatic…peace to all..

  162. I hope though that Shamcey continues in her profession and not go into showbiz.
Nuon, wa ma’y kaso ang acting pero daghan na kaayu’g naa sa showbiz oy!

HOY!!! PAGPUYO NA MO. KAY MAGPUYO NA PUD KO x). Bitaw…Kapoy na makig-away oy. Wa ta’y makuha ana. XD

  163. Miss Philippines did not lead all the online polls. She got in the top 16 because of her performance in the preliminaries. Miss portugal was the one who got in because of the online voting. Miss Philippines was clearly a top contender, having been selected to attend a few MU events, and she was one of the favorites of the pageant organizers as well. You make it sound like she did not deserve to be at the top. She clearly made it to the top through her own merits. Just saying.

I like how Miss Universe was tough competition this year and that in the end, the top 5 proved how diverse beauty can be, which sadly (and obviously) most people can’t accept…

  164. To my fellow Filipinos,

    Nakakahiya basahin mga comments nyo.

  165. to all the supporters of the bloody negra, i dont give a damn if she’s wearing the crown… as far as i know, the company of Mr. Trump with his lawyers are now making investigation about the alleged falsification of documents of the bloody negra with the organizers of their pageant in angola. so its just a matter of time before the truth will be revealed. i dont care who wears the crown as long as she is not a bloody cheater! rot to hell! oh i forgot, youre burnt already…

  166. racist? not so obvious… but experience wise, blacks cant be trusted! CHEATERS! CHEATERS! CHEATERS!

  167. @ JEN, if you got nothing to do but insult our candidate, stick your fingers in your crotch! am sure, youll find satisfucktion in that rather than barking…. get wet!

  168. @JENNA, we may be lowly but we are not benefit thieves! we know how to work and earn a living unlike you bloody lazy benefit thieves who got nothing to do but stay in bed the whole day and make babies! be sorry for your country because soon, therell be lots of bloody bastards like you… oh, before i forget, your beloved country is one of a war maker… they make wars to sell their weapon of mass destruction… they make alliances with other countries only to find out that they are actually exploiting these countries… such an educated way of exploiting people in the modern day… such hypocrisy! now, if you got nothing to do, stick your index, middle and ring finger in your crotch and rot in hell!

    • I don’t know, My Husband came to the Philippines for a visit, and even before we could deplane we were advised to keep our possession close, don’t trust of make friend with anyone, be extra careful with transport, in additions, make sure everything in our hotels rooms are lucked in the safe. My husband and I were visiting an outdoors resturant, I left my husband to run back to my room, and and he had to leave and come to find, at least three men come up and offer him their daughter for sex. It was so heartbreaking to see people living like that, maybe you guys should spend the money on fixing up your country, and your peoples life, instead of spending on A contestant, in Miss Universe. You speak about black people in America, don’t believe the hype, there is good and bad in every race, but not once when I go to America, have I been told to not make friends with them, or hide my position. And there were no crime advisary before deplaning, S

  169. to the back stabber countrymen, if you got nothing good to say about our candidate, wheres your loyalty? anyway, i have accepted the fact that she did not won the crown but at least, be assertive enough that the one wearing the crown is not a bloody cheater! she studied business administration in UK, so how come she cannot speak english? thats being outright cheater! the organizers are now making an investigation about that so its just a matter of time…

    • You may not have check, but you have said some really ugly things about other people and races, yet your are offended when others say things you don’t like. Shamcey should teach you that her God say you must take the beam out of you eyes because you can talk about others.

  170. well i just saw Ms. Angola today. For me she also deserved the title she has right now . Ms. Angola is indeed a very beautiful lady. I have no other question for her. Let’s just be thankful of what Ms. Philippines got. At least she has brought home another pride and achievement for our country and lets just be thankful for that :)

  171. i hate those people who says bad things about shamcey..
done is done. shamcey got the 3rd runner up.
about the Q and A, omg, remember it’s not easy to be on a stage, with the whole world is watching on you.

    lols on me.

  172. If you read carefully the question for and the answer of Miss Angola, you will find 1 grammatical error (“very well satisfied” should be “very much satisfied”) and 3 logical (the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sentences of her reply do not concern “physical characteristics” at all! These should have been considered errors, and should have eliminated her outright. What happened was that Miss Angola was rewarded the crown for her mistakes!

  173. Yes, Ms. Angola deserves to win the crown, Ms. Angola is beautiful in her own way and shows how graceful, serene and unique she is, she had some traits that filipinas have too, it was a fair fight not to have someone (judge) from Angola to help her out and do it herself to win it, well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion you may like her or not, no matter what she’s still a winner. peace everyone :)

  175. OMG! MS ANGOLA IS SUCH A MESS. SHE EVEN DIDN’T DESERVE TO BE THE CHAMPION. I MEAN, SHE’S TOO UGLY TO BE MISS UNIVERSE. OMG

  176. Miss philippines did ok,but ya’ll filipinos go to hell or back to your country now. Miss angola your the best nd you deserve it.

  177. Veronica! You are the most ugliest shit in the world!!! Go hang urself LOSER.

  178. ms. angola deserves to win!

  179. TO JENNA*
Hi Jenna! Thanks you’re back to post …Jenna, your terrible comments against the Filipinos had been read by most of the Filipinos all over the world. I just wish that what you have done against the Filipinos by your brutal mouth will not be a curse back to you. If the story repeats, it truly hurts down to your bones. And your tears will not be enough then. That’s why I pity you my dear. So, on behalf of the Filipinos around the world, we gonna forgave you. Because vengeance belongs to our Lord. Besides, God says, ” To ERR is Human & to forgive is Divine; He will lift up the humble and He will humble the proud”.

JENNA, for you to know that Filipinos are loving and forgiving, dedicated and sincere by nature. That’s why we are much welcome wherever we are even to the palace of the Kings & Queens. We know how to serve and to respect other people. If you want us to go back home, think what shall happen to the so called rich & wealthy who trusted their households, businesses, productions, etc. etc. to us in which we also care much with GRATITUDE. Being maids or servants may be a difficult and a lowclass job for you. But thanks God for what His will for us…for we know that even slaves are precious in the sight of God. Think about this JENNA, “God makes man, but man makes slaves”. The people who treated the Filipinos as slaves forever are the most pitiful creatures in the whole world, because one day they will face judgement which has no forgiveness at all. Hopefully you shall realize and repent soon…God loves you JENNA but He hates your arrogant heart and filthy mouth…your sin… so be changed now, tomorrow is maybe too late for you. Remember, hell is real. Pity you if you got to be there. It’s not a joke, lake of fire & numerous worms are excited to strike!!! That’s why many Filipinos are still willing to forgive & to pray for you JENNA. Think about that…
*Salute to all the candidates of Ms. Universe every year. Thay are all beautiful and picked among the bests. Cheers and peace!!!

    • Genie, your reply is a study in contradiction, first you say you forgive her, and tries to ask her mend her ways, yet you condemn her saying when she meets her maker there will be no forgiveness at all, You presume to speak for God by saying God Loves her, but he hates her arrogant heart and filthy mouth, which you call a sin. I think you put your self in the position of dictating to others as what the will of God yet your laced you comment in sarcasm. You cloak your comments in taking the high road, in vindictiveness, I am afraid you haven’t convinced me you are a true child of God.

  180. rhimzzzz.... :)) says:

    To Jenna,
you go to hell first….!!! filipinos are loving…
    you stupid…idiot..

  181. king martin agoncillo says:

you should not won the crown, Ms. Phillipines should be the one who won the pageant. you answer to the Q&A portion in not better that the other candidates, I think the judges are so idiot, they don’t judge really good.

  182. @angolash: so what if they are dark???? u knw what?balck is beautiful and they are beautiful for who they are…leila deserves the title.whats the problem w/ that??? i am a filipino and i know that filipinoes are beautiful and smart too…

  183. MISS PHILIPPINES-UNIVERSE 2011: Beauty, Brains and Beyond
    By ARIEL ALLERA
    Cebu, Philippines

(Let me share an article, below, I wrote about Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup before she left the country to compete in the recently concluded Miss Universe 2011 pageant in Sao Paolo, Brazil. I hope that, through this, you will get to know more about our very own beauty queen and admire her brains beneath those Chi-done waves, not to mention have a glimpse of her inner being through the grace and elegance of her tsunami walk.

Shamcey may not have come home with the coveted Miss Universe 2011 crown, but she’s brought so much pride and honor to our country by placing 3rd runner-up. Talks and blogs have it that she should’ve placed higher. However, in fairness to Miss Angola Leila Lopes (the winner), she had the most beautiful face amongst the top 15 semi-finalists. Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko (first runner-up) was also seductive and glamourous.

Of course, Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup was exceptional. She had the best walk and the best style. Moreover, Shamcey displayed the most grace and elegance, and delivered the most substantial answer in terms of honesty and conviction. Most importantly, who wouldn’t have been impressed by the fact that, of all the five finalists, she was the only one who needed no interpreter? She should’ve been given extra points for that.)

SHAMCEY SUPSUP: Beauty, Brains and Beyond
    By ARIEL ALLERA
    Cebu, Philippines

A beauty-and-brains combo can be hard to find among pageant contestants. More often if a candidate is too pretty, her Intelligence Quotient is scarcely high enough to match. There may be others who are blessed with a little bit of everything — lovely face, smooth skin, curvy figure, height of five-feet-seven or better, or just enough guts to say something during question-and-answer.

But if you’re judging a beauty contest, and there’s one girl onstage standing before you, alongside her equally gorgeous fellow contestants, and you knew that she graduated with Latin honors and she was a board topnotcher, why would you have to look around and find someone else?

This year, our country has chosen its national queen whose charm is as unquestionable as her wit. Recently crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe 2011, Shamcey Supsup has proven a woman’s worth by defining beauty at par with brains.

She’s not the first title-holder who has graduated Magna Cum Laude (from the University of the Philippines-Diliman), but her placing first in the 2010 Philippine Architecture Licensure Examination is what makes most of us hold her in higher esteem — than winning that coveted crown of the night. In a country where kids are told to study hard as soon as they start going to school, Supsup will serve as a role model for young girls out there who want to make a stride into the world of pageantry.

While most national beauty contests require girls to be at least high school graduates who are between 18 years old and 25, a completed undergraduate educational attainment will still be the best preparation, let alone weapon.

Not only will it have molded their minds, thus making them more confident throughout the competition, from pre-pageant interviews to the final question-and-answer in the coronation night, it will be easy for the winner to fulfill her duties and responsibilities during her reign. And then, she can pursue her long-term dream, be it in show business, or in the corporate world, or in the medical profession. It depends, though, on the girl’s physical potentiality and mental preparedness. Mutya Ng Pilipinas 1993 Michelle Aldana was still studying Speech and Drama at the University of the Philippines-Diliman when she joined the pageant. Her stature, spontaneity and fresh Filipina beauty won for our country the last Miss Asia-Pacific title.

Supsup will be competing in the Miss Universe pageant come September, to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. There’s no question to the way former Miss Universes have been selected, but almost always the Miss Universe Organization is hounded by controversies about their basis for selection of the semi-finalists. Many pageant experts and analysts have wondered how come that lousy lady from Europe made it to the semi finals, while this elegant lass from Asia barely did.

It goes without saying that results are always unpredictable and that we can only expect the unexpected. However, as soon as the semi-finalists start strutting their stuff and pivoting their way onstage, we cannot help noticing one or two finalists looking so out of place in swimsuit and in evening gown. Our country has sent sexier and prettier delegates to all international beauty pageants out there, but to no avail. We might as well support someone like Shamcey Supsup whose resume is as eloquent as her personality, a representative who can interact well with her co-candidates, the press, the sponsors, the organizers, the bigwigs of the host country.

Never mind the Final Question segment, for we cannot blame delegates who answer in their mother tongue. Intelligence is not measured by someone’s command of English, in a country where they’re using their native language as medium of instruction. But if we talk about a non-English speaking finalist’s gist of her answer, only the interpreter can admit to either translating her thoughts as is, or glossing over its content to make it sound more sensible.

And if, God willing, Shamcey Supsup brings home the crown this year, then she will be the next Miss Universe from the Philippines since 1973. But all the same, she will always be a full-fledged, one-of-a-kind icon of beauty and brains, born to be our country’s cream of the crop, donning the sash as the Philippines’ most beautiful woman, wearing the medal for being the most intelligent architect around.

  184. MISS PHILIPPINES 2011: Her Beauty and Brains Beyond Universal
    By Ariel Allera

Much as I’d like to blog about something new, I can’t afford to let go of my own share of retrospect on last September 6′s Miss Universe 2011 event. Quite understandable, because aside from being a pageant fanatic, a frustrated beauty queen, and a mentor to aspiring beauty queens, I will always be proud of every Filipino, past and present, who has made a mark in any international beauty quest.

Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup may not have come home with the coveted Miss Universe 2011 crown, but she’s brought pride and honor to our country by placing 3rd runner-up. Talks and blogs have it that she should’ve placed higher. As far as I’m concerned, she could have either clinched the crown or gotten the first runner-up position had most of the judges been receptive to and respectful enough of her honest-to-goodness answer to such a make-or-break question asked during the final round. However, I’d like to think that the result was fair, and I highly respect the judges’ decision.

In all fairness to Miss Angola Leila Lopes (the winner), she had the most beautiful face among the 15 semi-finalists. She reminds me of her fellow exotic beauty from her continent, Nigeria’s Agbani Darego, who won the 2001 Miss World crown in South Africa, but had been misplaced at Miss Universe 2001 held in Puerto Rico a few months prior (Denise Quinones of the host country won the night). Anyhow, Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko (first runner-up) was also seductive and glamourous.

Shamcey Supsup was exceptional. She’s a dead ringer for Binibining Pilipinas-International 1996 Yedda Marie Mendoza Kittilsvedt and Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2007 Anna Theresa Licaros mixed. She had the best walk and the best style. She displayed the most grace and elegance, and delivered the most substantial answer in terms of honesty and conviction. Moreover, who wouldn’t have been impressed by the fact that, of all the five finalists, she was the only one who needed no interpreter? For that she should’ve been given extra points.

Any true-blue Filipino everywhere would be proud of and happy for Shamcey’s feat at the pageant. But because we can’t please everybody, some may have blamed her for sounding too fanatically religious in her response to the final question:”Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person that you love? Why or why not?”

She replied, “If I had to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the person that I love, because the first person I love is God, who created me. I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God, too.”

I could hardly see anything wrong with that, with being honest and humble in a beauty pageant. It’s just so unbecoming that some title-holders won in their respective competitions owing to their answer that the judges and the audience wanted to hear. Hence, most contestants are pressed to answer against their personal choice and opinion, because they’re afraid to lose their chance of winning.

Please spare Shamcey, for she stood her ground with conviction as a God-centered human being and pride as an exemplary Filipina. Born brainy and bold, she did not come through a traditional method of training wherein beauty-queen wannabes are taught to lie and be politically correct for the sake of winning.

I reviewed the pageant a few days ago. Donald Trump was right about choosing Brazil as this year’s host country, because its culture is so rich as it was evident in the pageant’s stage. It might not be as majestic as that at Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus (crown won by my all-time favorite beauty queen, India’s Lara Dutta) or as big as that at Miss Universe 2004 in Equador (Australia’s Jennifer Hawkins was crowned), but Brazil’s production was awesome. It was festive that they let each of the candidates introduce herself onstage, rather than having the segment pre-taped from a separate location. It could, however, have also been taped onstage beforehand, but to the televiewers worldwide it looked as if it was done live.

I wish the present organizers could create an opening production number again that’s as visually enthralling as that of Miss Universe 2004, wherein USA’s Shandi Finnessey brought the house down with her hip-swaying. Such dance number may be a good ice-breaker for all those delegates coming from different countries and competing for one coveted crown. Plus, let’s face it: It’s pleasing to see all equally beautiful women dancing together, isn’t it? If I may remember it right, legendary pageant choreographer Scott Grossman did it and made it classy. He’s the hot man onstage, during his terms with the organization, who was tasked to hand bouquets to special award winners, the runners-up and, of course, the Miss Universe.

This year’s production number into each segment (the swimsuit competition as well as the evening gown competition) was eye-popping. What I like about Miss Universe compared to other pageants is that, like science, it undergoes change and development, as the structures of the universe. Gone are the days when girls dilly-dallied in their evening gowns. Such old-school style is common in neighborhood and municipal beauty contests, and even in some national and international pageants except for Miss Universe and Miss World. I found this year’s host Andy Cohen as delicious as his voice and accent. To me he’s the hottest host that Miss Universe pageant has invited.

To Shamcey Supsup, thank you for uplifting the image of our country. The same goes to Maria Venus Raj, for placing fourth runner-up in last year’s edition of Miss Universe pageant: You paved the way for aspiring Filipina beauty queens. On the other hand, it’s quite interesting to note that it was also in (Sao Paulo) Brazil where our very own Chat Almarvez bagged the first runner-up award in the prestigious Ford Supermodel of the World 2010 competition. A big thanks to her as well.

And if, God willing, Shamcey Supsup brings home the crown this year, then she will be the third Miss Universe from the Philippines since Margarita Moran won in 1973 and Gloria Diaz in 1969. But all the same, she will always be a full-fledged, one-of-a-kind icon of beauty and brains, born to be our country’s cream of the crop, donning the sash as the Philippines’ most beautiful woman, wearing the medal for being the most intelligent architect around.
