There have been several books, at least one film and a whole TLC reality mini-series devoted to Sarah Palin. Most of them, however, have been sycophantic at best – worshiping the former governor and vice presidential candidate’s unquestionable charisma rather than questioning her past.
Joe McGinniss’s new book, The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, is less kind. In fact, it’s chock full of controversial, and unflattering, claims about Palin. So much so that it is already making waves in the press, a week before its release.
Some of these claims, which critics of the book claim are ill supported, include Palin having a one-night stand in 1987 with future NBA basketball player Glen Rice. That would be only nine months before she married her now husband, Todd. McGinniss quotes a friend of Palin’s saying that she, ”had a fetish for black guys for a while.”
“She was a gorgeous woman. Super nice. I was blown away by her,” Rice told McGinniss in the book, according to NBC. “Afterward, she was a big crush that I had.”
McGinniss’s book also contends that Palin had an affair with her husband’s business partner, Brad Hanson, in the 1990′s and that she once snorted cocaine off an oil drum while snowboarding. It all sounds quite Bond-villain-esque, but, given Palin’s out-sized personality, the possibility that she may have made some larger than life mistakes doesn’t seem all that far fetched.
“An utter fraud. An absolute and utter fraud,” was McGinniss’s description of Palin in his interview about the book with NBC.
“At best, she’s a hypocrite,” McGinniss told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. “At worst, she’s a vindictive hypocrite.”

Thursday started out boring and dreary…UNTIL THIS CAME ALONG!!!
LOL!!! What fun!! Thank you NBC for putting a grin on my face. I shall be following this with great amusement as this develops.
Your pathetic.
How sad that truth does not matter to those who are supposed to be protectors of the truth. The evidence that Sarah Palin is a person of great integrity and decency, is as loud as a slap on the ear by the 25, 000 pages of emails tediously examined by multitudes looking for one gem of seedy, dishonest or slanderous word , but finding none. Amazing! And they were written over three years. That’s the proof I need to judge character, not a bunch of unproven rumors, lies and innuendo, by a hateful old liar, like McGinniss. Sarah Palin has my vote and Trust. I believe she will be a great president.
Anything to sell a book. Like we said in Vietnam, “It don’t mean nothin”. Leave the Palin’s alone. They are just as human as we all are.
