Jessie James and Kat Von D Split… Again!

They’re on, then they’re off, then they’re on again.  And now, apparently, off.  And Kat Von D claims it’s for good this time.  She clarified her relationship status the same way most people do these days… on Facebook.

Kat posted an extended note, meant to put an end to the laundry list of rumors circulating about the controversial tattoo artist because she thought that, “maybe the final episode of LA Ink left things a bit confusing to some.”  She goes on to state that she’s NOT planning to move to Texas.  She’s NOT retiring.  Her tattoo shop is NOT closing.  And she’s NOT in a relationship.  She apologizes, “for all the “back and forth” if it’s caused any confusion.”

Sounds a lot more like the apology I’m expecting to hear from the CEO of Netflix any day now, when he realizes what a terrible idea “Qwikster” is, than a statement to mark the end of a long standing relationship.  Frankly, this may be a way of protecting her personal life from the press, but the cool tone of the announcement just makes one wonder whether the fishy timing of the pair’s reconciliation (right after Von D’s reality show, LA Ink, was cancelled) wasn’t just a coincidence.  If hopes that the reignited romance might reignite the show have floundered, then maybe that’s the cause of this second, supposedly permanent, split.

Von D spoke to People Magazine about the break up, saying, “It was clear to me that we were just on two different paths in life.  My friend put it best when he said I could never be more deserving of total, noble love. And as a woman, I think it’s important to know your value and never lose sight of that.”
