“Dancing With the Stars” Pro Cheryl Burke Says She’s Proud of Rob Kardashian
Rob Kardashian has been something of a dark horse for this season of Dancing With the Stars. Even he admits he didn’t really want to be there, claiming that his mother made him do it. But his partner, Cheryl Burke, says that he’s really starting to get into the experience.
Burke did a post for People Magazine’s website about how far her reportedly shy partner has come in the weeks they’ve been working together. She points out that the spotlight isn’t something Rob is used to, even coming from a family that excels at being the center of attention.
“Rob’s not an entertainer,” Burke said in her post for People. “He’s not an actor. He’s not a singer. He doesn’t have a loud personality. He’s really shy. If you think about Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he’s always been in the shadows of his family and his sisters. He’s doing something totally different on our show.”
One of the best things about DWTS is watching familiar faces be transformed by dancing. Whether it’s Kristie Alley, finding body confidence again, or someone like Rob Kardashian learning to stand center stage and take his bow, it’s always fun to see how much learning to dance and finding the courage to do it front of the world can do for people.
Though Burke says that Rob wasn’t really upset by their low scores this past week, since he was just happy to have gotten through the dance without making any serious mistakes, starting at the bottom has definitely been a motivator for the Kardashian brother.
“Having low scores really got Rob into the next dance, which is the jive,” Burke reported to People. “We’re really excited about that because it really brings out his personality more. And it’s a lot more fun!”
