LeAnn Rimes has shrunk over the past couple years – but she says it’s perfectly natural. According to Us Weekly, the country star-turned-actress tried to explain the weight loss that the press has been obsessed with: “[When I] was going through a divorce and I couldn’t get out of bed… I gained 10 pounds, and then I lost 10 pounds because now I’m moving around and I’m working,” she explained. “I don’t stop, and no one sees that [weight loss[ actually can happen like naturally. It's a natural progression of life."
"It has to be some big deal and some issue," she continued. "I'm glad there are people out there that are smarter than that and they don't buy into it. I was told when I was little I couldn't have an opinion because you want everyone to buy your record and like you. I'm not gonna apologize for who I am and what I've gone through. We all are human."
Last month, LeAnn called out the press on Ellen: "[The press has] been very irresponsible [about] calling a lot of people fat or anorexic or bulimic or whatever it may be,” she said. “It seems like bullying now instead of really taking these diseases seriously that a lot of people are going through.”
Even other celebs are adding fuel to the fire; In August, fellow tiny celeb Giulana Rancic said of LeAnn, “She looks a little thin right now and I think she looks great when she’s a bit curvier.”
At least LeAnn’s hubby Eddie Cibrian says his wife’s body is “perfect.”
What do you think? Are the media outlets too obsessed with celebs’ weight? I’ve always been fascinated by this clip of Tyra Banks demonstrating how unflattering poses can make a celeb look much different than she actually is. But is LeAnn’s continual talking about the weight issue drawing even more attention to it?
