Paul McCartney Marries Nancy Shevell
Paul McCartney got married again this Sunday! Nancy Shevell, 51, an American heiress who McCartney has reportedly known for nearly twenty years, is the third Mrs. McCartney – and, thankfully, she seems worthy of succeeding the McCartney’s first wife, Linda, with whom he shared a famously strong marriage for nearly thirty years.
Shevell, unlike McCartney’s second wife Heather Mills, seems to have also formed a close bond with his children, including Stella McCartney, who designed the dress that Shevell wore for the small private marriage ceremony. Shevell and McCartney have known each other for almost twenty years. They were both married to other people when they met in the Hamptons, and have socialized over the course of the last two decades. The Daily Mail reports that their romance began in 2007, shortly after McCartney separated from Mills and Shevell separated from her husband. With in a year, they were inseparable. Shevell has even become a vegetarian, joining in the McCarthy family’s animal rights conscious lifestyle.
The pair were wed at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall. ”I feel absolutely wonderful,” McCartney told fans after the ceremony, which was attended by a very select group of family and friends including Ringo Starr and Barbara Walters, who is a second cousin of the bride.
