Mariska Hargitay is a mom – for the third time! Us Weekly reports that the Law & Order SVU star, 47, has adopted a new baby son named Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann. He joins his new sister, Amaya Josephine, whom Mariska and her husband Peter Hermann adopted just six months ago. The couple also has a 5 year-old biological child, August.
Mariska told People: “We never in a million years thought it would happen this quickly, but something inside of us knew that this was right, and we said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!,’” she said. “We knew this was our guy. Everything about it felt right. It felt divinely right.”
“He was a preemie,” a source said of Andrew, who was born in the United States. “He and Amaya are just a few months apart.” The motive: “Their hearts were so opened by the [first] adoption,” the source says of Hargitay and Hermann, a theater actor. “So they couldn’t imagine NOT taking the opportunity to bring another baby into the family.”
The source says Hargitay and Hermann, 44, “are very tired and overwhelmed with the change, but overjoyed.”
