Marco Simoncelli Crash Video 2011 (WATCH)
Just one week after IndyCar racer Dan Wheldon died in a crash seen live TV, motorcyle racer Marco Simoncelli suffered fatal injuries after crashing into two other motorcyclists during a live, televised race today.
The incident, which can be seen in the video below, was aired on live TV and may be considered graphic for some viewers.
Marco, 24, was just 4 minutes into the Malaysian MotoGP when he lost control, swerved and hit two other drivers. The two other drivers were Colin Edwards of the USA and Valentino Rossi of Italy. Both Edwards and Rossi were uninjured.
As you can see in the video, Simoncelli’s body remained motionless on the track after the crash. He was taken to a medical center where he died of chest, head and neck injuries.
Such a tragedy.
The racing world has lost two incredible men in two weeks.
Our hearts go out to all of Marco’s family and friends.
Here’s the video of the crash for those of you who haven’t seen it (warning, the contents may be graphic for some viewers):
