Zooey Deschanel National Anthem at World Series (WATCH!)
Baseball on Fox has kept new hit comedy The New Girl off the air for a couple weeks – but the World Series couldn’t keep star Zooey Deschanel from appearing on TV! The adorkable actress and singer from She & Him sang the national anthem at last night’s match-up between the Cardinals and the Rangers.

She’s not the first person you’d think of to sing the tune, but she did a great job – and her simple approach was a nice change from ostentatious singers like Christina Aguilera (remember when she forgot the words?).
Fans on Twitter immediately praised her performance, also asking where they could get her dress, which was red, white and black with both flowers and stripes (a little too cutesy for me). I dug her red pumps, though!
