So, if you want to be super authentic in shooting a wedding scene for one of the most anticipated book adaptations ever, you hire a real priest, right? Someone who can do it up properly, really make all your sobbing thirteen year old fans FEEL the weddingy goodness.
And also, maybe, kind of accidentally, get your leads actually married in the real world.
Pattinson let that particular cat out of the bag at a press conference in Sweden during his world press tour promoting Twlight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.
“The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest. So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married.”
Since the pair only recently admitted to their off screen relationship, which has been on the gossip mills forever and a day, we doubt they’re going to be taking their pseudo-marriage too seriously.
What they did take seriously was the controversial sex scene in the upcoming movie.
“It was very charged, but a very tender and sentimental scene. It’s not a scene from the book, so everyone was nervous about doing it right,” Pattinson explained at the press conference. ”A ton of other people were nervous. And, Kristen and I were both worried about the shape of our bodies would look on camera. We felt vulnerable.”
