Robert Pattinson may be famous for playing a brooding, super strong vampire in the movies, but he likes to have his mom and dad cheer him on, just like everybody else.
Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner added their hand and footprints to the famous collection in the courtyard of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood this Thursday. Pattinson’s parents, Clare and Richard, were there to watch their son join the ranks of Gene Kelly and Marilyn Monroe.
“His parents were in the front row and they were cute,” an onlooker told Us Weekly. “His mom was using her personal digital camera to take photos of everything, including the news helicopters circling overhead!”
The Pattinsons are apparently, “doing the tourist thing” while they visit California for their son’s big movie premiere on Friday night. They’re first comment? ”The weather is much better than in England!”
They’re awestruck, and bemused, by more than the weather. At one point during the ceremony, Clare nudged a pal and said, “This is all a bit wacky!”
Pattinson was appropriately humbled by the experience.
“This is such an incredible honor, how young we are — it’s kind of ridiculous and amazing at the same time,” he told the crowd. “It’s all up to you guys to drive this franchise over the years, so thank you so much for being so consistent. Thank you. You should all come up here and put your hands in!”
