Dakota Fanning Marc Jacobs Perfume Ad Banned For Being “Sexually Provocative”

Dakota Fanning’s new Marc Jacobs perfume ad is too sexy for the UK. E! News reports that the 17 year-old’s print ad – which features her wearing a minidress and holding a flower-shaped perfume bottle above her crotch as gazes at the camera all come-hither like – has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority.

The “Oh, Lola!” ad appeared in several magazines and newspaper supplements across the UK – and got pulled after just FOUR people complained. Offended readers said the ad was “irresponsible” and portrayed the actress in “a sexualized manner.” The ASA ruled that the placement of the perfume bottle “was sexually provocative” and “drew attention to her sexuality.” Well, duh. But is the ad too sexy?

The ASA may have been overreacting with their responses to ads from BeyoncĂ©, Christy Turlington, Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie, but Dakota IS just 17 years old. Honestly, the add is more campy than overtly salacious (and certainly not as skintastic as 15 year-old Kendall Jenner’s bikini photos) but still in fairly poor taste. What do you think?

Oh, Lola indeed.
