Penn State Riot 2011 Video: Rallies Getting Violent after Joe Paterno Fired!

Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has been fired after allegedly covering up the fact that assistant coach Jerry Sandusky had molested eight boys over a span of 15 years.

The firing, however, has sparked outrage in fans and the streets of Pennsylvania have been swarmed with protestors rioting and rallying against the decision all night.

The chaos was caught by TMZ videographers and can be seen below.

According to many reports, cops dressed in riot gear had been dispersed in the downtown area where the situation was getting very violent. A TV satellite truck was turned over, streets signs and lamp posts ripped down and fireworks exploding in the crowd while fans chanted “f-ck the trustees.”

At 10pm the riots became very violent and a local CBS news van was also turned over.

The fact that the decision to fire Paterno has caused so much fury in fans is more than a little bit concerning to me. Just because he’s a good coach doesn’t mean he should get away with covering up a child molestation scandal – or does it?

Are there really people out there supporting this man? If so, please feel free to leave your comments below and attempt to help me understand why you would support someone who supports child abuse…
