Rapper Astro showed an enormous amount of promise on X Factor USA this season – until tonight. Before this episode, the young kid seemed brilliant, grateful and determined but after tonight, he’s doesn’t seem to portray any of those characteristics anymore.
Perhaps Astro has learned a lesson in the most difficult way possible tonight. Perhaps he just threw away $5 million in the blink of an eye.
I’m not sure if this is Astro’s first competition ever but tonight his bad attitidue, arrogance and annoyingly childish behavior has lost him thousands of fans – not to mention the respect of the judges.
After it was announced he was in the bottom two, Astro’s ego took a hit and his whole attitude changed. Even Simon commented on how he was disrespecting his family by acting so immature and ungrateful.
After almost refusing to perform, delivering a lackluster performance, standing with his arms crossed with a sour look on his face as the judges delivered their votes for the night and talking back to the panel, it was clear that – even if he made it through tonight’s episode – this young boy was no longer worthy of $5 million.
Funny how one moment can change your life.
Not only will Astro not win this competition, it will be difficult for him to sign with a label after they realize that his attitude sucks and he can’t take criticism.
Sure, Astro is talented BUT there are a lot of talented kids in this world. Many who would be more grateful for an opportunity like this.

Jeremy, stop hating? This is the self entitled attitude that plagues American youth right now. Luckily out of three young kids in the show two are humble enough and gracious. Did I expect Astro to cry like a baby and get emotional about possibly leaving the show, no. But come on he’s good but only because he’s young AND talented but who is on his team anymore? Even LA is angry at him for his ungrateful attitude. He’s young so hopefully America chalks this up to his inexperience but America loves messages and because Astro isn’t conveying winner virtues of humility, grace, and gratitude I’m willing to bet he gets booted next week. Ironic because it will be thanksgiving week.
He will go soon because he is not a singer. However he is amazing at what he does. And as I have said before, reality T/V is scripted and last night was a sham at the kids expense. Shame on the judges who went along with it!

I am sorry that this show has such a bad blemish for it’s first season. I have been reading the comments and I sure hope that everyone involved with X-Factor is also doing the same. This show is for a variety of ages and there are others who are younger than Astro who were behaving with class and respect. So to comment it’s an age thing, I disagree. I do hope his family is upset with him, because for a $5million prize he really threw them all under the bus. Simon has been saying that his final vote is a judgement on the performance of the acts on the night of elimination. What happened, Simon? The judges are biased. why bother voting when their pets get saved every week. The people should be the only ones deciding who leaves. It would be nice to know how many votes each contestant got. That would maybe encourage them to perform better, or at least try.

I don’t think Stacy should have won, since while she does have a good voice at times, at other times it’s terribly pitchy. But Astro should have been sent packing. His attitude tonight was terrible, as it was clear he thought he was too good to have to perform for people who didn’t think enough of him to keep him out of the bottom two. If he’s this arrogant now, I’d hate to see him if he became rich and famous.

It is a staged and fix show that is not worth the viewing time, and thousands of us have banned this show for good. Any show that would have the nerve to allow a no-talent, lamebrained, little brat continue on a show after a) NOT having any singing ability whatsoever b) Subpar rapping that is nothing more than noise (c) Having Mr. Glasses (judge) who is biased toward the little brat.
End game, and I hope this lamebrain show dies in this season as it is just stupid. Yes, there are some good talented singers (real singers and performers) on this show, but when they leave ZERO talent on the show like this little twerp, it’s over and not worth watching. If I was one of the judges looking at that little boy, who thinks he’s a grown man, act like a fool as he did last night, I would have definitely voted him out of the competition no matter what I thought of Stacey’s singing. I’d rather allow her to go to the next round than to allow that little immature twit think that he is invincible. Last night was his time to learn a real life lesson. I don’t like to wish anyone bad luck, so I will say this. Astro, go home, get rid of the ego (or should I say stupidy), learn some manners and humbleness. Jonno, I bet Simon (especially) and Paula don’t see so much talent, but dollar signs when they look at Astro. Given the music scene today, he’s far more marketable than Stacy. When he started crying though, he kind of reminded us he is just a kid, and not the tough uncaring gansta rapper he’s pretending to be. Although if he keeps the attitude, (as he undoubtedly will) he’s going to be a nightmare when he gets older, especially since his ego and arrogance doesn’t need even more money and fame to prop it up further.
I totally agree with you. It was a hard decision to make for the judges. Stacey was going home home irregardless of Astro’s performance. The good news is we all know who is going home next week. Rap should never have been a genre on Xfactor. The audience is too limited and Astro never would have won. I think he knew that. His actions were deplorable, but I wouldn’t put it past the producers to have staged this whole episode. There is still an abundance of talent left, and if the voting public has learn’t anything from AI ……. But then again the real winner here will be Melanie and Simon knows that.
The judges and show host have said it was a singing contest several times already this year. Even the host says, “sing for their lives”. It’s nice that JayZ, who is also a cheating, poser, made millions of stupid people like yourself. And if we had a crystal ball, I could agree on Astro. But that’s just pure speculation on your part. The judges want astro for the obvious reason that he creates controversy which boosts the shows rating by giving it a circus atmosphere. Astro is an embarrassment to the show and should not have been allowed on it. But nice try to defend a kid who knows nothing of the hard work that the other contestants have had to endure to learn how to sing.
Also astro is completely arrogant and too immature to be on the show. He expects to be treated like #1 each week, and when he’s not, he falls apart and refuses to perform. This is a singing competition and every week the singers have a new theme which makes them step out of their comfort zone, and makes them compete for that $5 million dollars and Pepsi commercial. Astro does Rap and nothing else. There is a place for Rap but this isn’t the place. Now for the first time this kid hit the bottom two and this spoiled brat, might has well laid down on the stage and kick his feet. Stacy has had a couple of bad weeks, but even her bad weeks are better than Astro’s good weeks. I have lost a lot of respect for the judges tonight, they should have sent that spoiled Brat packing, they let a 13 year old Ass—– makes them look extremely stupid and in my eyes did the X-Factor no favors as well as the other contestants. I will watch the rest of the season but the judges have got to stop kissing the Astreo’s Ass.

Lets all be real about this. It’s a known fact that reality T/V is scripted. None of us know the truth about what really happened last night. If we choose to watch this program, and any other reality shows I think we have to be very aware that some of it will be hype created for the ratings. Astro I believe did in fact throw away a $5,000,000 prize. His attitude was awful which I have always found him extremely arrogant. As talented as he is, you have to be likeable. I dont understand why everyone is acting so shocked by his behavior because his attitude did not just get bad it was bad from the very beginning……Remember when they were teaching the contestants choreography and Astro refused to dance stating “that aint what I’m here for” I knew then that he would never get my vote.

I’ve seen his bad attitude all season and wondered why no one called him on it. He’s not “brilliant” – he’s a kid that can rap with a big ego at a very young age. Sad moment to watch and I hope we don’t see a lot more of him.

I dont understand why some judges criticized some performances for not sticking with the genre. astro didnt stick with the genre and no one said anything to him. He CANT do anything else. Rappers are dime a dozen. I am very disappointed in both Paula and Simon in their decisions. LA Reid is not much of a mentor for letting him get by with his unacceptable behavior.

said he didn’t think it was necessary to perform, THE ENTIRE PANEL OF JUDGES
SHOULD HAVE SHOWN HIM TO THE DOOR. I can’t believe this show has been picked

I know Stacy didn’t sing Mr. Loaf’s song very well. It was very hard to listen too. But her attitude compensate for that performance. You have to admit she wants this bad, and she is trying very hard for someone of age. Astro, sure he is good at the rapping thing, but just like they pressured for all others to come out of their comfort zone, they should challenge Astro to do something other than rap. They leave him in his comfy zone, why? This is a competition. With Astro’s bad attitude, and with Stacy’s awesome version of Amazing Grace, they should have given her the opportunity and put the voting in a deadlock and give the audience the last vote. I am sure you would have seen a twist in things…..Attitude and maturity goes a long way baby.
Stacy has already gotten an agent from all this…i believe there were some poor song choices…but she overall wad better talented than Astro…I do know some adults that have a 2 yr old anger issue but they are war related and take meds…i feel sorry Astro has not gotten guidance from anyone if he showed hid frustration on national Tv only can imagine how he is at home..

Wow – wouldn’t it be nice if we all could get a “do over” in life but most of us live with the consequences we create. It’s a big lesson for him to learn and I bet he thinks about this one for many years to come. Live and learn but he needs to just move on now. No second chances from me!
I definitely agree… he’s young.. simple as that.. and maybe this has taught him a lesson and I’m very sure LA got in the azz when they got behind stage because he did recognize his attitude and how he was acting, but he has respect and will speak to him one on one. Poor kid. I’m not saying he didn’t bring it on himself, but its a shame that it had to be such a crucial and public morning. As the judges said at bootcamp, ‘He’s just too young.’ I feel horrible for him and i think it cost him his reputation. I really hope he can bounce back, he is just a kid after all.

At least he’s real with his, which is more I can say for other contestants! From day one I noticed his attitude problem… when he was too good to get up and dance with the rest of them. He’s always had that attitude that i got accepted no matter what i’m winning and he thinks he’s better than anyone. The fact that yesterday (rock) he RAPPED and got away with it, what the hell? and what frustrates me is L.A had the nerve to say that Drew was the same every week… well im sorry but what do you call Astro? Yes he’s a good rapper but why should he be given special treatment? I think tonight with that attitude should have been a automatic disqualification! They perform in front of judges before they get to perform in front of Simon and co.
Average performers don’t get through – only good and terrible ones do.

So, yes, Astro will probably go next week but the rating of the show will skyrocket.

Astro was a winner before he got on the show, If he is voted off so be it. He will still get a recording deal. He is a very confident young man and talented. We all have a little disrespect in us just like all of the negative talk about him on this page. How disrespectful are the negative comments on this page. How can you teach kids not to BULLIE one another and still write this negative stuff about a child who is still learning. How STUPID is that. So STOP being a BULLIE!! Astro does not deserve all this negative talk. Try lifting his spirits and embrace him, teach him and forgive him. I agree his attitude was not the best but he is only 15 years old!!! I’m sure with all the stress, pressure and mixed emotions tons of people would have acted the same way at that age. I know there were times that I acted way more immature for way less when I was 15. It just sucks for him that one of his moments was on national tv. I really hope that one immature moment should doesnt ruin his shot. Anyone could tell at the end he was just devastated when he started crying. That’s a lot of pressure for a kid.

had it from the first show! He thinks he’s better than ANYONE! He didn’t think it was
necessary to dance a few weeks ago, he didn’t think it was necessary to have to sing last night. He’s ON the show – he doesn’t run it! His being 15 has NOTHING to do with it.
When he’s 50, he’ll still think he’s “it”. The kid has a chip on his shoulder that got knocked
off last night. Rachel and Drew are both YOUNGER than he is, and are just 2 kids
in a competition playing by the SHOWS rules, not trying to make the show play by THEIR

I’m a drummer and I sometimes drum backup for various artist and today Astro proved he could not be in the industry with that type of attitude. Do you know how many times I’ve been told to replay a song and do it better? Astro screwed his chances of winning when he mouthed off to Simon. Astro has such an attitude. I saw this early on in the competition. Did anyone notice tonight that when they cut to behind the stage and showed the 8 contestants that were still waiting to find out their fate, that Astro was talking and looked at the camera and said what looked like “oh shit”? I can’t wait to watch him go home next week.

Thinking back a bit I see where the Astro’s attitude comes from. Drew is told she always does the same thing while Astro raps. Chris is chastised some for doing Marley during rock week and Astro Raps. “Every” contestant had to dance but Astro sat on the floor and refused. Frankenstein made his monster and some judges made Astro.
Here’s what really infuriates me. LA Reid is watching comments on different sites, and by next week, they are going to try to ram a newer, sweeter Astro down our throats. They will have a plan to try to pull the wool over America’s eyes, and all the gullible idiots will eat it up.
First of all, he had every right to be pissed (If most of the contestants had their videos taken off youtube for more than 12hrs during a time for voting, they will surely have been mad. Remembr a recognizable number of people now depend on youtube than the traditional TV). However, how he went about it is what I really didn’t like. I thnk he could have carried his anger toward the right people off the public eyes. So this is my advice to ASTRO: Come next week, apologies in a rap, drop some magical punchlines and u will be good to go.

In my opinion, Astro’s attitude reflects the judges attitudes. Constructive criticism is one thing… all four have stooped to bickering, juvenile, negative behaviour…. rather poor role models for the young contestants.
OK.. So that wasn’t the best way for Astro to handle that last night. But I do respect and agree with the statement that he made, witch was “if America doesn’t want me here, why should I perform for them”. What set’s Astro apart from the other contestants is the fact that he doesn’t just pick a song out of a had and sing it. He CREATES 100% ORIGINAL material every single week for the show, and it’s good! On top of that, he’s never gotten any negative feedback (because there was none to give) and he performs his ass off, giving solid performance from the times of auditions to now with the live shows. But he ends up in the buttom because the people watching this show overlook his talent because they don’t respect hip hop? So he felt like.. I put 100% into what I do on this show every week.. and If america doesn’t appreciate it.. then I don’t want to perform for them. He was being honest, witch most people are afraid to do. So I respect what he did. But I do think he may have kissed that $5M goodbye.

Shameful that bad behavior and disrespect gets applauded and rewarded. I’m not challenging Astro’s talent, but there are other teens on the show that have demonstrated a level of maturity and humbleness that is admirable. Astro has demonstrated arrogance from the beginning and I don’t want his attitude and behavior to be linked to his age and hip-pop. Rudeness and disrespect is just that without coloring it with age, gender, race or type of music. As viewers and adults, we have the responsibility to support positive behavior, if we don’t, we don’t have the right to complain when kids and adults misbehave.

From the start of the show, I was never impressed with Astro. His attitude and arrogance turned me off right away and I don’t think he should have made it to the judge’s houses, much less the live shows. I think he is being allowed to butcher songs with his rewriting of song lyrics. He took a classic, genius, Oscar winning song from Eminem and turned it into a lyrical mess that in no way captured the essence of the original song. He didn’t even use the original song’s cadence of the words. While he does have some talent in writing lyrics, he is in no way a Jay-Z, Dr. Dre or could even stand in the same room as Eminem. He needs to go home, learn humility and practice more of his chosen genre. He is in no way ready to be a performer. But unfortunately, with what La Reid has done with Justin Bieber, I doubt we won’t see the last of him after he is voted off. However, he won’t have a carrier that’s remotely close to Bieber.

I’ve always taught my students that you can have all the chops in the world but if you want lots of gigs, treat people with respect. Nobody wants to work with p.ricks. After his stunts here, he won’t make it another week. Hope someone can help the kid but I really doubt it. He’s going to have to go through some hard knocks, if he ever gets it. I will not watch this substandard series any longer after the judges had the nerve to let that little, no talent, child remain on the show. It just goes to show how fixed and staged this how really is in reality. I’m not saying the other girl should have remained, I’m saying they should have shown some integrity and booted that little brat on his ugly butt. The kid has ZERO talent, is nothing more than a noise-making brat who can’t sing a lick. His rapping is subpar at best, and Mr. Glasses supports him for his own motive as a judge. Must remind him of when he was a kid is all I can say. The bottom line is that hundreds of thousands of viewers have dumped X-Factor because one little brat of no talent was left on the show. I’m not one to leave comments and such, but this was warranted, and the bottom line is that X-Factor is a crap show completely staged and full of crap.
