Miranda Kerr might have scored the honor of wearing the center piece Fantasy Treasure Bra this year in the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, but she wasn’t always so confident in her place on the Victoria Secret “Angels” line up.
How the Australian knock out beauty could feel insecure might be beyond those of us who look at her and feel like dowdy middle aged school marms, but the 28 year old told New York Magazine that meeting the “angels” who came before her was enough to shake her confidence.
“I just remember the first time I met Adriana , she was so beautiful,” Kerr told NY Mag. “I was like, ‘Why would they want me?’ I mean, look at her. She’s incredible. And then I met Heidi and Gisele and I was like, ‘What am I doing here?’”
If you needed evidence that most women’s body insecurities are all in their heads, look no further. If Kerr can doubt herself in the face of the Heidis and Giseles of the world, than anyone can. Of course, it’s a bit easier to get over that insecurity when you’re sharing a stage with those ladies regularly. Especially after you’ve just upstaged them in a $2.5 million dollar bra.
“I always see myself as, like, equal to everyone,” she told New York Magazine. “I can’t feel bad about being who I am, just like the girl next to me can’t feel bad about being who she is.”
