Alec Baldwin Kicked off Plane for Playing Games on Cell Phone: Fair?
Alec Baldwin has never been one to shy away from the media and his recent fiasco with American Airlines is no exception. After being kicked off the plane for playing games on his cell phone, the 30 Rock star took to his Twitter to defend his actions.
“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving,” Alec tweeted, following the message with this hash tag: #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt.
But his tweets didn’t end there. New messages like “Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950′s find jobs as flight attendants,” and “Now, as I was kicked off this flight, the word I was playing was UNITED” mixed in with multiple tweets claiming “#theresalwaysunited” are now taking over his Twitter page.
The question is, who’s in the wrong here.
Flight attendants are required to follow protocol and everyone knows that when you’re told to shut off your cell phones, you shut them off. Those are just the rules – you follow the rules or you get off the plane. Celebrity or not.
On the other hand, they were at the gate, not even moving so what’s the big deal?
If a cell phone has the capability of interrupting a flight, they shouldn’t be allowed on the plane at all.
This is a tricky one but, in the end, we have to go with American Airlines on this one.
It’s a few minutes without your cell phone, Alec. Get over it.
