Late yesterday afternoon, the sports world exploded with the news that the New Orleans Hornets had reached a deal to trade star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers in return for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom (the Houston Rockets were also reported to be involved, making the trade a three-way affair).
Soon after the news broke, Khloe Kardashian made it known that she was prepared to pack up and move to New Orleans with her husband, Odom. The two star in the reality show Khloe and Lamar.
Now, it looks like the two will get to stay put in Los Angeles–at least for the time being. NBA Commissioner David Stern, who’s also in charge of the Hornets because the NBA owns the team (it’s complicated), has vetoed the trade. Odom will remain with the Lakers absent a new deal that meets Stern’s approval.
Khloe seems like a very committed wife and we get the feeling she would have no problem traveling anywhere in the world that Odom’s career takes him, but she would probably feel particularly at home in New Orleans. After all, her family spent a lot of time there when sister Kim was dating then-New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush.
