A rep for Katie Couric has confirmed that the former news anchor and her boyfriend have broken up.
According to reports, Brooks Perlin is currently in the process of moving his stuff out of Couric’s posh apartment in New York City’s upper east side.
The two met at a cancer research fundraiser in 2006, eight years after Couric’s first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer. Perlin is 17 years younger than Couric.
Us Weekly spoke to a friend of Couric who said “Brook’s a nice guy, but it was inevitable because they had different priorities and perspectives, and their age difference made it a challenge, too.”
Couric is now back on the market. She has two daughters from her first marriage (Ellie, 20, and Carrie, 15). Her new talk show, still untitled, is set to premiere in September of next year.
