You can count on Barbara Walters to tell the Kardashians to their face that there is no real reason for their fame aside from Kim’s 2007 sex tape, which catapulted them into the limelight. In an interview for her highly anticipated “10 Most Fascinating People” special, Walters told them, “You don’t really act. You don’t sing. You don’t dance. You don’t have any — forgive me — any talent!”
The Kardashians were probably expecting this (since it’s true), and Kim calmly responded, “I think it’s more of a challenge to go on a reality show and get people to fall in love with you for being you.”
And in reference to her sex tape, Kim stated, “Whatever you do, you might think, I’ve made mistakes in my life for sure.”
Barbara Walters’ choice to include the Kardashians in the “10 Most Fascinating People” list immediately drew in some controversy. When Walters uttered the name “Kardashians” on The View, the audience retaliated with resounding boo’s.
While she herself has admitted to his controversial decision, she’s mentioned that “people love the fact that nothing in their lives is private.”
Other figures in this year’s list include the late Steve Jobs, Simon Cowell, Herman Cain, Katy Perry and Derek Jeter.
What do you think of the Kardashians’ inclusion in this list?
