Russell Brand Lands Two Series Deals with Fox and FX
If you’re a fan of that quirky and brash Brit, Russell Brand, you’ll be looking forward to the 2012 TV season. The actor/comedian has struck gold on netowrk television, landing deals for one television series with Fox and another for its sister station, FX.
Soon you’ll be seeing Brand as host of a late-night, unscripted series on FX and hearing his voice on an animated series for Fox. The former gig will highlight everything we’ve come to love about the goofy, yet decidedly rock-and-roll British star: according to the FX network, Brand will be lending his opinion on pop culture, current events and politics. This will be the first television deal for his production company, Branded Films.
So, how does Brand react to all of this sudden attention? Like you would expect. “I’m so excited I’m on the point of climax, in fact I will put the “O” into FX, which spells FOX, which is actually the channel’s real name,” Brand tells Reuters, “That’s the only thing that worries me about all this to be honest.” Leave it to Brand to totter on the brink of offense with a public statement. In fact, we can probably expect a lot fo that on his upcoming show.
