X Factor: Simon Cowell Mocks Nicole Scherzinger After Her Performance

Nicole Scherzinger, often booed and recently blamed for sending Rachel Crow home, performed her new single, “Pretty,” from her forthcoming album.

Despite the recent turn of events, Nicole received lots of applause after her performance from the audience.

Simon, in playful fashion, mocked Nicole and remarked that she “transcends the universe” — and some other jibberish about waterfalls and rainbows.  She took it in stride and responded that his comments were beautiful.

Nicole Scherzinger often gets criticized for her lack of singing talent and that her success relies on her good looks, enthusiasm as an entertainer, and catchy songs. Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez also often receive similar criticisms.

I think Nicole Scherzinger is a decent singer and she definitely can engage an audience. However, in terms of pure singing talent, I would say that some of the contestants, notably Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik, are much better. Then again, I don’t think Nicole is attempting to become the next Mariah!

Thoughts on her performance?

  1. She did a fair job at lip synching.

  2. People don’t know but Nicole’s voice is AMAZING. She can sing opera (just sang in the UK with the phantom of the opera for the royal variety), and her voice is really great. Too bad people don’t even know.

  3. From which planet are you? She killed the son! And if you think she is not talented just watch her performance at the Royal Variety, singing Phantom of The Opera!

  4. Research your material before writing it. She can actually sing you dimmwit.

  5. Yeah, I saw her Phantom of The Opera performance, WOW. I didn’t know she was a trained opera singer. She can really hit those high notes. She just needs to work on her chest voice.

This comment is directed to Simon Cowell. I hope he will receive it.. We Canadians follow the Canadian Idol, American Idol and now the X Factor. I follow your show faithfully. I have to say though that I was extremely upset about the Rachel Crow incident last week. when Rachel and Marcus were singing for their lives. The best performer for the evening was without question, Rachel Crow. I believe that it was terribly wrong for Nicole to force a deadlock. and have Rachel going home. Marcus had been in the botton 3 times and Rachel none. She blew Marcus away in their final sing off. Nicole is always wishy wshy when it come time to eliminate someone. I believe if she cannot do the job she is paid to do – perhaps next time around for the X Factor her involement with the show should be terminated. Simon – you are a very astute person. Here is my suggestion for the next X Factor – There is always record producers, singer, choreographer, etc. on the judge’s panel. I would like to suggest to you that you retain a person that is totally impartial to be a judge on X Factor. A common everyday person who can voice their opinion as a member of the at-home viewing audience. This would be a very novel idea and I believe would bring another spark to the show. American Idol, Canadian Idol and X Faxtor do not have this. I think this would be a great thing to implement so that the public can have their views represented regarding the music they would like to buy.. You are a risk taker and always come out on top. Why not think about it and the benefits it may have for the show. If you decided that this idea was viable to try, I would like to be considrered for this. I am a Canadian so I could be impartial all the way around.with my comments re: the contestants and what the viewing public is looking for in an idol.. I don’t presume to know more about the judging than you but I feel a little twist in the show would be a great crowd pleaser. Please reach me at 1-506-536-1346 if you are interested. in this proposal. I only hope that this message reaches you personally. This suggestion is worth trying and if it didn’t work out it could easily be dropped from the show. What do you have to lose. Hoping to hear from you in the near future. I’m rooting for Melanie all the way.
