Justin Bieber Invests In Charity Facebook Game WeTopia

Justin Bieber has invested in the startup Sojo Studios, the company behind the Facebook game called WeTopia that allows gamers to earn money for various charities.

Gamers who play WeTopia earn a currency called “Joy” that can be contributed to real life charities. For example, the currency can be used to help build schools or provide medicine to impoverished communities. In a way, WeTopia is sort of like a charitable version of Farmville.

“Playing online games is a lot of fun already, but WeTopia makes it better by helping children around the world,” the Biebs said in a press release. “I’ve been so lucky and blessed and that’s why I believe so much in giving back, and I know my fans will feel the same way when they play WeTopia.”

Bieber followed his statement in the release with a tweet: “Let’s play this game and do some good 4 kids around the world.”

Sojo Studios has partnered with charities including Save the Children, buildOn and the Children’s Health Fund. The company says that it plans to release more games in the future.
