Tonight’s X Factor USA finale solo performances were probably one of the most talent-filled and inspirational in reality talent television, making this an extremely close competition!
Chris Rene sang his signature “Young Homie” and Simon Cowell remarked that it was his 5 million dollar song. Josh Krajcik sang Etta James’ “At Last” and beautifully delivered the classic song with his rock edge. Melanie Amaro sang “Listen” – the song she wowed the judges with when she first auditioned – prompting LA Reid to refer to it as her fifty – not five – million dollar song. Simon Cowell of course made the most dramatic statement of the night: Melanie Amaro should win the X Factor USA.
All three contestants performed much better singing alone than in the duets with their respective three celebrity singers, Avril Lavigne, R Kelly and Alanis Morissette. Perhaps the contenders were overly mesmerized or the guest singers were overshadowing them, but their true talent – the reason why they were in the top three – really didn’t shine through until they had the stage all to themselves!
Who do you think will take home the $5 million contract tomorrow?
Yes, Melanie can sing but she is lacking the other things that make up the X Factor. She is the same as many other female singers and so there is nothing special about it. Josh and Chris both do have all of the elements required, and I voted an equal amount of times for both of them. As long as one of them wins, I’ll be happy.
This has been the most exciting show I have ever seen and I have seen alot of t.v.Simon you d man. Great!!!!!
Josh is the most versatile (he can sing from the beatles to the foo fighters to rihanna). Chris is versatile too but lets just say the songs don’t turn out very well if it is out of the rap range. Melanie only sticks to her powerful ballads. Josh can also sing and has this unique bluesy/rock voice. Melanie just sounds like another Leona Lewis and Chris… he can’t sing for nuts.
