Taylor Swift to Star in Les Miserables Movie with Amanda Seyfried

Taylor Swift…in Les Mis? According to The Huffington Post, it’s happening! Taylor will star as Eponine in a movie adaptation of Les Miserables, with Amanda Seyfried joining her as Cosette.

The news is a bit of a shock, given how many (more experienced) actresses were vying for the role in the film, which will be directed by Tom Hooper. But the 22 year-old Grammy hoarder might be just right for the part, given that Eponine’s classic song “On My Own” is about a boy who loves another girl. (“You Belong with Me,” anyone?)

Taylor has a just a smidge of acting experience, having appeared in Valentine’s Day and an episode of CSI. She also lent her voice to the upcoming animated film The Lorax.

Hollywood actually released a Les Miserables movie starring Liam Neeson and Claire Danes in 1998, but that version didn’t include the classic songs of the popular Broadway musical. Are you excited for the reboot?

Taylor took to Twitter to celebrate that her Hunger Games song “Safe and Sound” is #1, but hasn’t yet confirmed her Les Miserables casting news.

Are you excited to see Taylor in a musical film?
