Elin Nordegren Demolishes $12 Million Mansion

Goodbye Tiger, goodbye new house. em>The Huffington Post reports that Elin Nordegren, Tiger Wood’s ex-wife, is demolishing the $12.3 million oceanfront mansion she bought last year.

My first thought was that she is tearing down the old house she used to live in with Tiger, but that’s not the case; this is the mansion she bought after she and Tiger got divorced in 2010. Built in 1932, the 17,000-square-foot two-story had a swimming pool and an elevator – but I guess that wasn’t enough! Elin plans to live nearby as she builds a new house on the Palm Beach lot, which is about 140 miles southeast of Tiger’s lair (which she used to live in) up in Orlando (far enough that they won’t run into each other at the usual rich people hangouts). Tiger is also reportedly building a new house on Jupiter Island.

Realtor John True told the Palm Beach Post that the house “was a beautiful place, incredible landscaping, fantastic ocean frontage.” He added: “I heard that the original plan was to renovate. But once they started, I heard they decided to tear it down.”

Would you bulldoze a $12.3 million dollar home? I guess Elin can afford it – she received $100 million in her divorce settlement.
