Baby Blue Ivy Takes Over Hospital, Other Patients Suffer

beyonce-jay-zThe birth of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter interrupted the entire workings of Lenox Hill Hospital, inciting security measures that separated other new parents from their babies.

It’s understandable that the high-profile music stars would want to ensure privacy, so it’s not a surprise that they rented out an entire floor of the hospital for a crazy fee. However, their over-the-top security measures kept one new dad from visiting his newborn, premature twins.

“They just used the hospital like it was their own and nobody else mattered,” a frustrated Neil Coulon told Fox News. Despite his best efforts, Blue Ivy’s birth prevented him from even entering the hallway for 20 minutes, until security so generously allowed him out of the NICU to rejoin his family.

Blue Ivy Carter was born by C-section on Saturday night, after Beyonce checked in as “Ingrid Jackson” and settled into her private sixth floor suite. Other new and expecting parents were ushered out of their rooms or else barricaded into them to allow the Carter party to come and go as they pleased.

It’s not like Beyonce and Jay-Z didn’t pay for this special treatment (rumors say the bill was somewhere around $1.3 million), but should their treatment come at such a cost to everyone else?
