Paula Deen to Endorse Diabetes Meds
Paula Deen is about to launch a simple new recipe: Take 1 Diabetes Pill. The Daily reports that the celebrity chef – know for delicious but very unhealthy food – has made a big deal with a pharmaceutical company to endorse a Diabetes drug she’s taking for Type 2 Diabetes.
The National Enquirer reported in April that Paula, 64, suffers from the disease – but she did not address the rumors. She is active on Twitter – but has not addressed the news about her endorsement, either.
In August of last year, Paula got into a public fight with Anthony Bourdain, who said: “She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations, and she’s proud of the fact that her food is f–king bad for you. I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it is OK to eat food that is killing us. Plus, her food sucks.”
Paula said that Anthony needed to “get a life,” adding: “You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael [Ray]‘s, Sandra [Lee]‘s and Guy [Fieri]‘s. But it’s another thing to attack our character…I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country. In the last two years, my partners and I have fed more than 10 million hungry people by bringing meat to food banks.”
You can’t deny that Paula has done some good – but is she doing too much bad by encouraging people to eat unhealthy food?
Maybe she can sell a bundle of her cookbooks and Diabetes pills together…so convenient!
