Katharine McPhee And Debra Messing Star In The New Show ‘Smash’
Anticipation is building as the series premiere of the new show Smash approaches. Reviewers who have seen the first two episodes of the series are raving about the show.
Smash is set to debut after the Super Bowl on NBC. That’s February 6th for the non-football fans out there. Smash stars Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing, Christian Borle and Anjelica Huston.
The hour-long musical drama will follow a group of fictional characters who band together to create and perform a Broadway musical about the life of style icon Marilyn Munroe. The show will feature original songs from a team of composers, as well as covers of pop classics (Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” can be heard in promos for the show).
You can expect to see fierce competition between the characters in the show. After all, who wouldn’t want to play Marilyn Munroe in a musical? Katharine McPhee, who rose to fame as the runner-up on the fifth season of American Idol, stars as the immensely talented small-town girl who goes up against the established star (Hilty) in her quest to win the role.
