It seems as though Betty White has been receiving a spike in attention since her hilarious Super Bowl commercial in 2010 and I’m glad she is! America’s last surviving Golden Girl remains as lovable and witty as ever – and NBC decided to celebrate that on Monday night by putting on a star-studded special, “A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl,” which included celebrities like Hugh Jackman.
Even President Obama sent his personal birthday wishes, comedically asking for her long-form birth certificate because he doesn’t believe she can possibly be 90 years old. (Watch the video below!)
Betty White’s entertainment career has spanned 70 years, most notably for her performances in Golden Girls, Hot in Cleveland, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, for which she received her first-ever Emmy award in 1975 for Best Actress. She has won six other Emmy awards. Most recently, in 2010 she won Outstanding Guest Actress on A Comedy Series for her hosting turn on Saturday Night Live.
I hope Betty enjoys her birthday with her dog Pontiac – and perhaps she’ll send a video respond to the President!
