Mark Wahlberg Says He Could Have Stopped 9/11, then Apologizes

Mark Wahlberg is causing quite a stir. In a new interview with Men’s Journal, the Contraband star says he was originally booked on one of the flights that got hijacked on September 11, 2001 – and he says things would have gone differently had he been onboard.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘Okay, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Life isn’t an action movie, Mark. When Internet commenters fired back at him, he apologized: “To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible,” he told People. “I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive. It was certainly not my intention.””

To be fair, Marky Mark also took a jab at Sarah Jessica Parker, saying that he lets his wife pick movies “As long as it isn’t a Sarah Jessica Parker movie.”

Hey Mark… maybe quit taking interviews and go film another Contraband, aka a movie that looks the same as every other action movie ever.
