Randy Travis Arrested For Being Drunk In Public (Mug Shot Photo)

Country singer Randy Travis’ night on the town ended with him being arrested. Cops in Sanger, Texas (in the Dallas area) found the star drinking in front of a Baptist church on February 6 and made the decision to arrest him.

According the the police department, they received a call about a suspicious vehicle near the church. Police officers were dispatched to the scene and, upon arrival, they quickly discovered Travis drinking from a bottle of wine and reeking of alcohol.

Travis was arrested and hauled to jail at about 1:30 a.m. local time. From there, he was booked, cited and released. He faces charges of public intoxication.

The 52-year-old country singer’s inventory of hits includes the song “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

He issued a statement through his publicist in which he apologized for his arrest, saying that he is sorry “for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl.” He added, “I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.”
