Hollywood Thinks Sherri Shepherd and Octavia Spencer Are the Same Person
Of course, an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress would make people treat you differently…but for Sherri Shepherd, Octavia Spencer’s Oscar is making the difference! Apparently, members of the Hollywood elite (and boy, do I wish I knew who) have mistakenly congratulated Sherri, 44 (a host on The View), thinking she is Octavia, 39 (the actress in The Help).
“Dear Hollywood: Sherri Shepherd And Octavia Spencer Are Not The Same Person but we are dear friends, LOL,” Octavia tweeted yesterday. With over 50 retweets, let’s hope the word gets passed along!
Apparently, this isn’t the first time Sherri has been confused for an Oscar winner. Sherri wrote back, “the yr Mo won, people told me i was great in Precious…loved when i threw the tv down the stairs…” Of course, she’s talking about Monique, who won an Oscar for playing an abusive mother in Precious.
