American Idol Favorites Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez Nail Their Top 13 Performances
Well, according to the judges.
The brave Jessica Sanchez takes a crack at “I Will Always Love You.” She was definitely the standout female last week and perhaps she will outdo herself. During the coaching session, Jimmy warns her against incorporating too much vibrato in her singing. After her actual performance, Jessica gets a standing ovation from the judges. Randy says, “Jessica Sanchez is legit!” Steven Tyler says she “just made 40 million people cry.” What? There’s 40 million people watching the show?
Do you think Jessica Sanchez is all that she’s hyped up to be? Perhaps she sounds much better live but I don’t see how she compares to singers on, say, The Voice or X Factor.
They save Phillip Phillips for last since he’s already basically won the entire competition. He sings “Superstition.” Jimmy says they need Phillip in the competition and that he’s the only one who’s a musician and a singer. The judges shower him with love.
