American Idol: Heejun Han Shocks With Most Unconventional Performance Ever!
Hollie Cavangh is next. Jimmy Iovine and Tommy Hilfiger both think she’s been dressing too old for her age. She sings Billy Joel’s “Honesty” wearing a white blazer, sequined top and gray slacks. She looks much older than previous episodes. Steven Tyler says she was a bit pitchy and she probably needed more time to practice. The other judges agree.
Hailey Reinheart is in the audience to promote tomorrow’s performance during the results show. Is anybody excited about this? I sure am not.
Heejun Han chooses “My Life.” He asks Jimmy and Diddy for advice on how to handle the criticism. Diddy says he needs to toughen up. Diddy later comments that he doesn’t know if Heejun is a conman or an actor.
Tommy Hilfiger asks Heejun whose fashion sense he likes. Heejun says Jessica Sanchez. Then Madonna. Then Michael Bolton. He clearly doesn’t care about fashion.
The performance begins with some awkward acting. He starts with some emotional tunes then abruptly stops, telling the piano player that it’s much too slow. He then rips off his jacket and reveals a white t-shirt with colorful blocks printed on them. He walks straight to the judges’ table and gets all up in their faces. He walks alongside the audience, where I think I see Nigel Lythoe standing and clapping.
Steven Tyler looks really annoyed. JLo says he was a breath of fresh air, but since he was running around he didn’t hit the vocals. Steven says, “Hee Man! Are you happy that you took the piss out of that song? The music business will kick your ass; at some point you got to take it more serious.” Randy says he was just happy to see him have a good time.
What did you think of Heejun’s performance? Is he not taking the competition seriously anymore?
