American Idol: Tommy Hilfiger Tells Phillip Phillips He Needs Help, Says His Clothes Will Cost Him the Win
The first thing that comes out of Tommy Hilfiger’s mouth when he sees Phillip Phillips is: “I don’t’ want to be rude, but you need help.” Tommy thinks Phillip is in trouble because of his drab, gray outfits. I disagree. I think the women love him for his nonpretentious, plain style. But who knows.
Phillip sings “Movin’ Out” quite passionately if you ask me. JLo says she feels like he was taking out his aggression on his mentors toward the end of his song. Steven tells him not to be anybody but himself and throws a scarf at him. Randy points out that, against his mentors’ suggestions, he wore gray on gray and worked his guitar, which indicates he knows who he is. Randy conclues that Phillip is brilliant. Phillip says he’s not about image and that his music comes first.
He throws Steven Tyler’s scarf at a group of screaming women (See? I was right. They still love him despite his gray clothes.) I’m a bit shocked that he would give away Steven Tyler’s scarf like that. At least sell it on eBay. I guess he’s really counting on his music career to take off.
What do you think of Phillip Phillips style? Love the plain, boyish charm or should he start wearing Hilfiger?!
