American Idol Top 10 Mentored by Diddy and Tommy Hilfiger
Today’s episode begins with a melodramatic montage of each remaining contestant in tears as they bid adieu to Shannon Magrane, the last hopeful to be booted off.
The Top 10 – officially going on tour – is: Deandre Brackensick, Heejun Han, Elise Testone, Joshua Ledet, Skylar Laine, Erika Van Pelt, Colton Dixon, Jessica Sanchez, Hollie Cavanagh, and Phillip Phillips.
This week’s theme is Billy Joel. Jimmy Iovine is once again the musical guide, and brought in Diddy to coach the contestants during rehearsals. Tommy Hilfiger also came in to advise each contestant with their look.
Tommy Hilfgier immediately instructs Deandre to put his hair down. Deandre performs “Only The Good Die Young” and maintains an uptempo enthusiasm throughout the song. The performance is just adequate – not great but not bad – a sentiment is echoed by the judges. They state that it was a good way to start the show but it was nothing extraordinary.
