Dennis Rodman Deadbeat Dad – Could Face Jail Time!
Dennis Rodman faces a possible 20-day jail sentence due to his unpaid child and spousal support, reportedly estimated at $860, 376. The eccentric NBA Hall-of-Famer is said to be an alcoholic, which impairs his ability to get work.
Rodman’s manager, Darren Prince says that the former Chicago Bulls forward has a “well-documented drinking problem, and all the stress from the divorce and not seeing his kids isn’t helping. As people know, it’s a daily struggle. He has good days and bad ones and good weeks and bad weeks.”
Rodman’s bizarre antics are well documented. He’s been known to throw wild parties at his beachfront home in Newport Beach, where police officers have been called more than 80 times. He arrived for his 40th birthday soiree by helicopter, landing illegally on the beach, and has docked his 47-foot speedboat, Sexual Chocolate, at the wrong port.
All good times must come to an end: Rodman was forced to sell his beachfront property after his third wife, Michelle Rodman, filled for divorce in 2004. The NBA star claimed his previous salary to be half a million dollars, with property valuing $3.4 million, and stocks and bonds at $1.45 million. However, after the aftermath of divorcing, Rodman went on a binge that surpassed his previous zaniness.
After efforts at reconciliation, the marriage continued to dissolve, and Michelle Rodman petitioned the court a second time. Rodman claims that their disagreements have “never been a hate thing. We’re not like that.” The pair were seen dining with their two children on Monday morning.
Rodman’s next venture is a topless women’s basketball team with hopes that new revenue will get him out of his financial and personal quandaries.
