Marc Anthony Divorces Jennifer Lopez – The Split is Official
After seven years of marriage, Marc Anthony, 43, has filed for divorce from singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, 42, citing irreconcilable differences. The papers were filed on Monday after the couple’s nine-month-long separation.
Anthony has filed for joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme. Sources say that the Anthony wants any requests for spousal support dismissed if Lopez were to ask for them. We can see why. Lopez’s wallet is far from empty.
The couple remain amicable and continue to work together on television talent show Q’Viva! The Chosen. Even with the demise of her marriage, Lopez remains a hopeless romantic: “Sometimes it doesn’t work—and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love…It’s still my biggest dream.”
The two seem to have rebounded quite quickly and prove the flexibility of a broken heart. The latin queen has been seen canoodling with the 25-year-old dancer Casper Smarti, while Anthony has been linked to a 24-year-old Venezuelan model.
The two prove that the lag time between love is but a blink of an eye. They wed in June 2004, months after Lopez and Ben Affleck ended their engagement, and days after Anthony’s divorce from Dayanaras Torres, former Miss Puerto Rico.
