Carey Mulligan Gets Married in Rain Boots
Some say that rain on your wedding day is good luck – but few people would embrace the weather the way Carey Mulligan did: with rain boots! According to Us Weekly, the 26 year-old actress wed Marcus Mumford on Saturday in England – and wore pink Wellington rain boots during the drizzling ceremony at Stream Farm at Bridgwater, Somerset, England.
Carey’s wedding dress was more traditional; according to US, she wore a custom-made cream Prada gown, while bridesmaids wore Prada gowns in different shades of blue. However, MTV news claims Carey wore an Ivory backless wedding gown designed by Versace. Ah, conflicting reports! Pics or it didn’t happen! (Perhaps she had different dresses for the ceremony and the reception?)
150 guests attended the wedding, including celebs Sienna Miller, Colin Firth and Jake Gyllenhaal. Colin apparently gave a speech; “Colin was a pro at the speech. He was his charming self and had the room in fits,” a source said. Carey’s dad, John, is a vicar and officiated the wedding.
Marcus, the singer from Mumford & Sons, is only 24 – and he and Carey were only dating for five months when he proposed in August 2011. While they seem super young for marriage, I guess they’ve had almost a year since then to confirm that they’re serious! Before Marcus, Carey dated Shia LeBeouf – and Marcus was linked to singer Laura Marling.
