American Idol Queen Performances: Judges Deem Skylar Star of the First Half
Phillip Phillips performs “Fat Bottomed Girls.” Steven Tyler smiles and says, “The bigger the cushion, the bigger the cusion.” JLo vehemently denies something and playfully pushes Steven. Maybe she assumes he was referencing her. Obviously he was. JLo says Phillip wasn’t like Dave Matthews at all. Randy says he liked it but he wasn’t jumping up and down. Ryan points out that Randy has never jumped up and down before, so Randy begins jumping up and down. It isn’t that impressive.
Hollie Cavanagh sings “Save Me.” Steven Tyler says she did a “really good job.” JLo feels Hollie got emotional in the middle of the song which made her sound a bit off. Again, JLo tells her to “just be up there and enjoy it.” Randy says there was something missing.
Ryan asks the judges about their assessments thus far. JLo thinks Skylar stood out. Randy says Hollie needs to step it up and while Skylar did well, Joshua and Elise were great. Steven Tyler thinks the first-half performance goes to Skylar as well.
