Prince William and Kate Celebrate Their First Wedding Anniversary
William and Kate‘s wedding is not what anyone would call private: two billion TV viewers were glued to their seats during their nuptials in 2011. So how did this fairytale couple celebrate their first year of marriage?
Not with a reality show in the works or anything public in nature. After attending a schoolmate’s wedding on Sunday, the royal couple decided to have a private night-in. “They spent the weekend privately with friends,” says a source. “They’re not celebrating their anniversary in any public way.”
This is a refreshing change from all the celebrity oversharers out there. Their anniversary was yesterday (Sunday), and the couple attended a wedding in Suffolk, England on Saturday. What was Kate wearing you ask? The duchess turned trendsetter was spotted wearing the navy lace dress by Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu, the same one she wore on her first visit to Canada last summer during the Canuck tour of duty.
Her equally fashionable sister Pippa Middleton wore a gold sequined dress embellished with a butterfly-embroidered hat by Madeleine Millinery. It wouldn’t be a British get-together without a fancy hat!
Sunday afternoon found the couple sharing a private lunch together before heading back to Wales for an intimate night in. William is due back to work today. A prince’s duties are never done, folks!
William and Kate have done a great deal to spark a lagging public interest in the monarch. So what’s next for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge? We wait happily for the next royal landmark… A bundle of joy, perchance?
