Jessica Simpson Gives Birth to a Baby Girl
Stop the countdown, folks, because this is the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Jessica Simpson can finally add the title ‘mom’ to her long list of accomplishments! After a long and highly-publicized pregnancy, the singer/actress/fashion mogul gave birth to a 9 pound, 13 ounce baby girl in Los Angeles this morning, and she and fiancé Eric Johnson couldn’t be happier.
An announcement on her official site states, “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson.”
Maxwell’s birth was highly anticipated by fans, the media, and even other celebrities. In the weeks leading up to the big event, pop star Katy Perry tweeted, “Has Jessica Simpson had that baby yet?! I’m getting anxious.”
The public was clearly just as anxious as Perry. In the weeks leading up to the pregnancy, Jess had to shut down a number of rumours that stated that the baby had already come. “To everyone who keeps congratulating me on the birth of my baby girl…I’m still pregnant!!,” she tweeted.
This is Jessica’s first child with Eric Johnson. The happy couple plans to marry in the near future (once Jess is svelte enough to fit into her dream dress again).
