Jessica Simpson’s Maternity Suite Cost $4,000 a Day
Move over, Beyonce. There’s a new VIP mom in town! Jessica Simpson just gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew this morning – and TMZ reports that she did it in a luxury birthing suite that cost $3,784 a day. Jessica gave birth at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles – and while some reports were overblown in their claims that Jessica spent $500,000, we’re still shocked by the price tag!
Cedars-Sinai, where celebs like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have also given birth, offers a number of private birthing suites. Jessica’s was a 3-bdrm, 2-bath private enclave featuring flat screen TVs, chilled juices on ice, muffin baskets, manicures, pedicures and a private dinner for two after the baby is popped out. Giving birth doesn’t sound so bad, huh?
You might remember when Beyonce came under fire for spending $3,200 a night on a luxury, 4 bedroom birthing suite in New York City, and allegedly causing so much of a stir that other patients were ignored. Jessica has her beat, at least financially!
Back in March, Jessica admitted to Ellen Degeneres that she was nervous about giving birth. “I had contractions last night and I freaked out a little bit. You know those Braxton Hicks things,” she said. “It’s like these contractions that pregnant woman have towards the end. It prepares your body for delivery. I’m prepared. It’s scary. It’s like, ‘Oh God, this can happen right now.’” She also said she knew pregnancy would “hurt very badly.”
Just think about that fancy manicure and meal while you’re pushing!
