American Idol 60s Night: Joshua and Phillip Duet, Jessica Sanchez Causes Randy JLo Argument
Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips will sing their first-ever duet.
They facetiously tell Ryan they didn’t want to partner with each other. They sing the Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.” Steven Tyler says they were a match made in heaven. JLo tells them not to be afraid to sing with each other. Randy loved it.
Jessica Sanchez goes for “Proud Mary.” Little Steven says he hated that song because he’s heard it way too much and tries to talk her out of it but is impressed after he hears her rendition.
Jessica performs wearing a skin-tight white dress ornamented with long chains on the front. I can’t help but wonder if the outfit is slightly too sexy for a 16 year old. Either way, she sounds great!
JLo exclaims, “You’re so grown-up there! I can’t believe you’re sixteen!” like she does every week. He likes seeing Jessica move. Steven Tyler says he heard the blues come out. Randy was in a bit of a “difference place.” He says the performance was “barely okay” and it didn’t quite sit with him. JLo refutes that you can’t compare a 16 year old to Tina Turner and this show is about each singer’s individual journey. Randy responds that the song is such a classic he can’t help but draw the comparison. JLo says, “Whatever.”
What do you think of the duet and Jessica’s performance?
